As a Jew I can say that money hasn't created happiness. For over 40 years I have worked non stop, under great stress to build what I have. I am not nearly as bright as other family members and people I know. Everything has come hard for me and at a big price. I sacrificed personal pleasure and having a family, no vacations, ect... But I finally started to become successful and have been taking good care of my mother for over a decade. That's my greatest achievement, to be able to have her live well and want for nothing. It also allowed me the time to take care of my father until he died over a decade ago. These things are my happiness.

well why not look under your own roof. the catholic church and vatican is the wealthiest institution in the world. yet it’s churches are filled with people in absolute destitution because it’s considered good to be poor and in poverty by it’s tradition. we look after ourselves and families first but also no matter how little we earn we all tithe. and that’s not just to other jews aside from anything we’re mostly independent, but to everyone else. the reason you maybe don’t realise it is we don’t make a song and dance about it. it’s between us and god. for jews it’s all about the integrity of the receiver of charity. and their dignity. in christianity it’s all about the giver and no regard for the person receiving it. so that’s why christian’s like to make a noise about their giving. but it’s wrong headed. god sees what you give and it should be done as anonymously as possible and in order to preserve the dignity of the person who’s in need of charity or support without embarrassing them. the highest form of charity is giving someone the ability to provide for themselves either through a job or work etc and making a position for them. that doesn’t embarrass the individual at all. but if you are to give immediate aid then it’s considered best practice in judaism that the giver and receiver stay anonymous from each other. hidden. so we not to shame the receiver.

@danh5637 Жыл бұрын
that’s not actually quite true. a good portion of our holy books are concerned with the mission set by our creator to fulfil the desires of others. in one sense money is important but as it explains in the video it’s really also not the focus of our happiness. by fulfilling the desires of others and growing that ability to bestow to be as big as possible it can be lucrative as you are able to do it more and more. it doesn’t matter the field. but at the end of the day the money isn’t the objective here although jews unlike christian’s are not anti money. the objective is fulfilling others and being a pipeline of gods bestowal to others. that’s basically it. that teaching is really unique to jews. who also practice it. in gentile culture it’s somewhat the opposite money is all about getting and doing whatever it takes to get and receive. for jews it’s the opposite it’s a representation of bestowal and giving. and it’s a reward from the creator for doing so. but it’s not the only reward.

Melba, There is so much evidence to the contrary. Many immigrants come here with practically nothing in their pockets and build wealth and upward mobility all the time!...while inner-city youths (who's parent(s) get free money through government programs) stay stuck in generational poverty. The key difference is strong familial connections, educational priorities w/high expectations, and positive daily habits/mindset/work ethic. Racial disparities/inequities do exist but they are not determinative and can be changed. Case in point- there are very successful models for teaching inner city students to be successful and rise out of poverty, unfortunately, hardly any of them are public run schools. See: the "Bob Woodson Center" for inner city, or Ian Rowe and Vertex Academies, to name a couple off the top of my head. The biggest hurdles to overcome with poverty is public school teachers unions, and single parent homes. Nothing is perfect in every single case but I believe it would reduce poverty and hopelessness significantly! It takes a family, a village, and more local control over public policy to make these changes.

Help each other???? Nobody, at least no other Jew, ever helped me. Plenty of non-Jews helped me. I haven't known other Jews who were helped by other Jews. Mostly it is being consistent at the hard work. Also, it does not come from a desire to get rich. It comes from a desire to excel at something that we really love to do. My perspective only. I am not trying to impose my perspective on others. But if you will try it you might like it. Do what you love to do to the exclusion of most anything else and after 20 years or so you just might not find that there is not a bunch of money, but that there is not much that you want that you can't have.

The reason Jews are more successful is they work as a group ( Jewish solidarity ) ( this is not the case with Christianity or other religions ) the most successful Jewish group are Ashkenazi Jews they are genetically mixed Anatolian’s with east Europeans and Persians this mixture gave them an edge like Steve Jobs was a mixed race child 50% Arab Muslim from his father side and 50% European Christian from his mother side , this mixture gave him a genetic edge and he crated the wealthiest company in America history Apple and the most luxurious global US brand ,,, currently there are a million Syrian refugees in Germany certainly after admixing with native Germans they will produce successful children ( Anatolians who are the ancestors of Ashkenazi Jews are virtually the same as Syrians the key deference is that Ashkenazi Jews mixed with European ( 50% of Ashkenazi Jews genetics is from European maternal ancestors while the rest is mostly Anatolians with little Persian input , thus the Syrians of Germany will be the new Ashkenazi Jews .

Why are people fond of reminding others that money does not give you happiness? As if not having money gives happiness. Neither gives happiness but Money, being our means of exchange for the essential things of living in comfort is important while here. So chase it and get it. Money has it's purpose here on earth. Therefore have it and use it for what it is worth and it is worth a whooooooole lot. You can do a lot with it. Ask those who have it and they alone are in the position to say and not someone who has never been rich trying to console himself that money can't give you happiness. As if having money takes away happiness. Lack of money never gives anyone happiness. If you are unhappy, you will still be unhappy if you lack money. And I will choose to have money any day no matter what state of mind I am in. They are two different things. Being happy has its rules, the same way being rich does. You can actually get both at the same time if you follow their rules.

well generational wealth doesn’t cut it for us. because history as you can see is littered with jews having to start over again and again and again after various groups of christian’s hate on us. and the fact is also that many jews amass great fortunes in a single generation literally from nothing. whilst of course there are jewish heirs. it’s actually encouraged to make your own money. and set up your own businesses and not rely on familial stuff. if you do work in a family business you’re expected to work for it like anyone else. generally speaking there of course are exceptions. it can be common for jewish dads to spoil their daughters for instance. but not to the point it destroys their independence.

Every folk or nation is programmed according to it's living conditions. As you say: their group experienced millennia of oppression and money had provided a certain amount of safety. The Dutch are programmed on team work. Without working together they would have been long lost. The Netherlands is one of the few countries in the world where catholics, protestants and Jews are maintaining normal relationship for centuries (after Reformation 1568 - 1648). The Jews were lucky to find a safe harbour without fear of pogroms and prosecutions. All Dutch had a jointly enemy: water. In a country that is situated lower than the sea level, and whole life depends on the dykes, all hands and brains are needed. No village with protestant population can afford itself not to help a catholic village to guard or repair their dyk, because the dyk belongs to catholics. Within few hours the whole area will be flooded. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqHHeJyhgcabsLc and kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnXZeY15gZ19eNk. The Israelis are programmed to war conditions. They developped very sensible antennas to "smell" a coming war. They are always busy in analysing the situation around them. In contradiction to other Jews, they are maintaining solidarity. Like the Dutch they understand the need to fight. There is no other way for them to survive.

Who is one to say money can’t buy someone’s happiness? This old adage “money can’t buy happiness” has been perpetuated by poor people to feel better & make their miserable lives appear less mediocre. I have always been intrigued by the Jewish community and would often ask the question, what is the secret to their success? I would ask the question of anyone who is considered to be successful. The title of this video should have been, “PROGRAMMED to be successful”. Well, after much thought I got it down to four main values: 1. Religion 2. Family 3. Entrepreneurship 4. Education. I believe that in a nutshell sums up the Jewish culture. Culture is programming and some cultures are more conducive to success than others. If all peoples of the world were dedicated to the aforementioned values, you would see the same results. It’s not the hardware, but the software that matters most. When I look at other demographics that are statistically unsuccessful, all one has to do is look into the culture/programming/software/values and you can see why the odds are stacked against them. There are other external factors that might hinder success, but regardless, having a culture that is conducive to success will typically allow them to prevail. I believe the Jewish community has proven this throughout history. It would take a paradigm shift to break the chain for unsuccessful communities because as we all know, culture is passed down from one generation to the next.

Good comment. You have missed out a very important quality though. And that is survival - through the greatest hardships imaginable, which is now encoded into the Jewish collective unconscious, as well as humanity as a whole too. God bless

They are not rich. They are BLESSED. Hating them is equivalent to hating the One that continues to bless them. They are not for themselves. They are owned by the One greater than everything. He has the authority to hurt them ... through us. But if we do, we will suffer much more than they would suffer from us.

After thousands of years of discrimination and not being allowed to perform so many trades, nepotism has a huge foothold on us. Maybe even worse than the Indian caste system. I can tell you this as first hand experience in my family and community. Even when it comes to hiring someone to do some yard work, almost everyone I know would ask around for a Jewish person, or if not, for someone that "looks Jewish" or "has a Jewish sounding name". I cannot imagine how much worse it is in the big leagues.

This is a silly argument I think. In my hospital there are tons of Filipinos and this is also evident in many other hospitals. They help one another. Wealthy black people help out the black community as well. Why is it when there are Jews that can help their group is it a problem? It happens. Not everyone is like that. I'm not and neither are a few others I know but if some want to help the community then more power to them.
@haroldsteinblatt2567 Жыл бұрын
Utterly bogus, made clear when you started with yard work. Nepotism is no worse among Jews than among anyone else. “Worse than the Indian caste system” is really over the top, so much so that it renders your whole comment meaningless.
