For sure someone will jump ship, but I don't think it will make a significant dent in the OW playerbase. Over complex and under intuitive, Deadlock literally is a MOBA shooter. A thing that OW steered well away from based on, guess, playerbase feedback in the early days.

got access to beta and got bored half way through tbh. It's fun but a lot of the fun came from the novelty of being able to play so many new heroes but once that wore off for me, I realized i didnt enjoy how it played overall and how all the heroes interacted with each other, how it felt playing interms of performance and responsiveness, the 3rd person shooting feeling awkward etc. This isnt to say the game is bad though except the obvious performance issues and responsiveness, some people might enjoy it more but it didn't really offer anything thats better for me other than a handful of heroes being fun.

I always felt that overwatch should have a moba game type. They already have the robots and pve enemies made. Lay them out in a moba styled map and you have a fresh game mode. Most of the groundwork is there. Biggest hold up is their engine. Can it take that much going on?

​@@Ranamon9132 the release date doesn't matter. Paladins was in production way before Overwatch was. They took multiple ideas from Paladins team, as well as heroes (abilities etc). But tbh if we're gonna be pedantic about it, we can just say that both have taken the idea from tf2 😂 and just added lol type heroes. It's a shame Paladins pretty much died off. It has really cool gameplay loop, where you can customize how you play your hero. Also horses from spawn. Who thinks of that? Ability purchases too. Definitely could've been the OW killer.

The thing is that the ones deeming it as the "OW killer" is the OW community itself. Games like this and Marvel Rivals havent been around for enough time to gather a proper community yet, so most people that repeat the "OW killer" trope is just the same OW players projecting over any new game that comes out with any similarity as dumb as it may be. Like, "oh this game has skills with CDs, this is an OW killer wow"

Overwatch will be fine. Rivals will be a fun alternative, I will switch between the 2. Deadlock is a MOBA, its does not hit the same as either MR or OW and will probably not keep players from OW for an extended period of time. It is a great game if you’re into MOBAs, they tend to frustrate me personally tho.

Overwatch killed itself fot me. I uninstalled 6 months ago and havent looked back. Been playing this game instead for the last week. I just cant stand the ingenuine, apathetic attitude blizzard has towards its own playbase. I gave up. 10 seasons of top 500, the rest in GM/Masters, and I just cant any more man. The game lost itself years ago. Im hopeful for marvel rivals, but for the same reasons overwatch is terrible, Rivals will just have an expedited death

Nope, different type of game. What I have seen about this game is that you shoot bots 70% and 30% other players. I mean it's something different, MOBA in 3D. It's new, it's exciting. But I'm pretty sure that when people start to realize that you shoot bots so often and matches last long time. It will dwindle down. OW is good in that sense that you can just go on QP and have a 8min match and done, then can go for another or go play something else.

This game is a moba, the most it’s fighting against is Predecessor and SMITE. League is immortal and a topdown. Dota2 just exists in the shadows. Honestly looks very goofy and might lose support when CS2 starts dying because they won’t input a more heavy anticheat. Overwatch is nothing like this game, the only current game similar to Overwatch right now is Paladins which is dead. So once Marvel Rivals drops that will be the only competitor.
