I visited my old apartment in the worst neighborhood in Tel Aviv. It is in the south of Tel Aviv, a poor, working-class part of the city compared with the fancy center and north. it has also drastically changed with the arrival of thousands of migrants from Africa who entered illegally in the last 2 decades.
You should also check out my other video from this part of Tel Aviv where I hang out with some of the migrant communities 👉 • Inside Israel's Worst ...

The people were super nice and the market was as good as I remembered it. Is every big city destined to have these gaps, or can it be avoided. What do you think?

Every city has this. It's curious that Tel Aviv has a problem with illegal migrants as well. Europe and the USA are obsessed with this issue lately. Israel ... has bigger problems

The tragedy of Ofra's death is that she didn't need to die. By 2003, HIV was mostly a managable infection, and had been since 1996, with the advent of protease inhibitors. I often wonder why Ofra didn't seek treatment in New York, London or San Francisco which were on the cutting edge of life saing treatments, yes, even 20 years ago.

I think there was a stigma to it. HIV is to some people an indication of a "sinful" lifestyle, and she came from a traditional Yemenite home. Apparently she was infected by her husband, who got HIV from his drug use. Her family was upset with the Israeli media when the real reason for her death was revealed.

Doctors who treated AIDS patients were reportedly "horrified" after learning Haza's decision to hide her illness. Dr. Zvi Bentwich, head of the AIDS Center at the Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot, commented: It brings us back to the beginning of the epidemic with the near-demonization and stigmatization of a disease that actually we are dealing with much better. [...] And in this unfortunate case, without having all the details, it appears that Ofra Haza almost died of the embarrassment, from the terrible fear to reveal her illness. Source: Wikipedia

There was also speculation about how she had acquired the virus. Immediately after her death, the media placed blame on her husband, Tel Aviv businessman Doron Ashkenazi, for infecting her with the disease. Haza's manager Bezalel Aloni supported this belief, writing in his book that Haza acquired AIDS through sex with her husband. Later, it was revealed that her husband believed Haza became infected because of a blood transfusion she received in a Turkish hospital following a miscarriage. Ashkenazi himself died of a drug overdose roughly one year later on 7 April 2001. Source: Wikipedia

The Land was slowly bought from Turkish and Arab landowners, when your people did not see eye to eye they began pogroms just like those in late 19th century Europe that brought the Jews to the land. When it was divided you decided not to compromise and instead try to end us. Is everything in this war justified? No. Israel should take the fault for wrongful actions. But until Palestinians take the same accountability for their actions and decide to end the decades of hatred, this conflict will not end. And we are here to stay.
