I love it how you literally destroy all of those cheap ass boxes. I know it can be frustrating when playing it, but I’ll save my money for sure. Getting a Raspberry Pi on the other hand is a bit tricky since the reputable companies are out of stock and the ones that do are selling them for twice the price or more. I’ll just wait it out even though I really want a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 8GB RAM. I mean I would want the top of the line to make sure it’ll work with what I throw at it.

I use an i5 10400, gf 730, audigy rx, 2tb storage in a very small case barely over a foot high. It is all old parts and emulates like a beast. Ssd for os, cd/dvd drive for physical, 8gb ram, etc. It cost me $350 to make a few years ago, getting used parts is a great way to make a poor man's gaming rig.

Try to give a raspberry pi a spin, or if your about pure value, get a older optiplex ssf model, throw in some memory and a cheapo GPU and CPU, and that's a box that can play up to PS2 very well

I think the issues with getting a Raspberry PI is the technical difficulty with getting Retro Pi, then the actual images via News Servers. I've talk to a lot of people who would love to get the PI, but don't have the technical proficiency to do all that's required to build a PI themselves. Does anyone know if there a way to download images from a site like Arcade Punks without using a news server service?

So I've been in the emulation community since the beginning. I'm 95% sure what happened is when you launched mortal Kombat it took awhile to load the ISO into memory. You then launched ultimate mortal kombat. Then mortal Kombat started because the ISO finished loading. While you were playing mortal Kombat, ultimate mortal Kombat was loading in the background. You quit mortal Kombat and started Streets of rage, and I'm willing to bet ultimate mortal Kombat was running in the background causing the Genesis to be slow. I can almost guarantee if you would have powered off the system and powered it back on the Genesis games would have played fine.

Hey, man. I know this is a fairly old review but I have been experimenting with this and wanted to add something that I noticed. On my modern Roku TV, the stick runs horrible. But if you use it on an older hd TV (such as an older element) it runs nearly flawlessly. I tried it out on three different TVs back to back. And on the older models it seems to work great, except for the PlayStation roms. It isn't amazing but for the price it is decent if it is your only option, and if you have a low end hd TV. I'm not sure why it struggles on more modern TV's but it is what it is.

Yes the system it's not perfect. But looks this way. This is a budget game system. This is usually less than 20$ on AliExpress and the Raspberry is more expensive (Board+case+sdCard+controllers) it's the double the price. I do have one of those, but with different and better controllers, and i'm wondering buying a second unit. It's awesome for kids to play on the go. If they are attending to a party or family reunion and you want them to be quiet, give them one those. This it's not intended for game collectors that want that pixel perfect and no screen tearing or 1:1 scaling. This is something to have fun!! There's also a custom ROM of this that fixes some of the issues on this console, named Open World ROM, made but some russians and its not to bad. Bear on mind this is a 20$ less console. If you want something better and larger go for Android boxes, RaspberryPI, computer with Recalbox. But see the size of this thing, its ONLY a small stick

Honestly I got one with eBay and it was about £25 few years back and the snes games yeah screen and sound glitches, you can’t change the aspect ratio to core provided like retroarch and yeah crash bandicoot slows down to the point it may just crash. I don’t even think if I remember mine is the lite version but perhaps next one up?

Any recommendations on a mini PC that can run steam for just the use of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary? Preferably with two USB-A ports for controllers. I'm a switch fan. it's my goto console. I try not to knock systems too much but, you don't run a linux based OS like Batocera, and you can't run basic games on 16 bit systems...AND you can't change the aspect ratio...its a hard pass. There are cheap devices that run better than this. This should have never been released.

Dude I bought this on Temu for $1.72. The original price was listed as $75 but you can get this right now for like $15 to $30ish. I got mine cheap because of some new user coupon even though I’m not a new user. I didn’t ask questions I just bought it. By the way it’s definitely worth the money. There is a lot of classic games that any gamer will love. It would be worth it even if the price is around $30. The only thing is I’ve never got to try two player out yet, so I have no idea how that works.

The raspberry Pi is obsolete too. Its more than 100 bucks nowadays, and not that good for the price, it is not even power-efficient. RetroPie is a mess and over complicated. I actually think this thing offers just enough for the casual gamer. For 45 bucks it delivers way more than the average official "mini console". If you are a total noob, and want a simple easy to setup system, get a 25€ MacMini 2009, 2 SNES USB gamepads and install OpenEmu. Then just start adding those games you want to play, nothing more. Curating your own collection is key.
