Just took a listen to a lydian #2 improv, I'm gonna try experimenting with this sometime as well, it sounds like that ethereal floating feeling you get from lydian, but deeper, more solemn.

fellow harmonic minor enjoyer!!! there was a point where i overused that so much, like you can totally hear that in my older songs. now i play around with different scales (but i still use it somewhat often in resolutions)

@@sevenlivesmusic A harmonic Minor is sooooo underrated, people always opt for the melodic minor, but the harmonic minor is so neat!

@@Shin3y yeah! I find it almost like a cheat-code to insert that "exotic" sound into your music, and a great way to resolve melodies if you're using a dominant 7th chord. One of my absolute favourite things about melodic minor though is mixolydian b6 (fifth mode of melodic minor). It sounds so mysterious, owing to the fact that it has the major 1 and minor 4 in the same scale! It's like the bottom half is major, while the top half is minor, and that just leads to them working together in such a pleasing way.

It’s not my thing but I have to say you have massive talent buddy, you can make like different genres. And I respect talented guys like you. Meanwhile untalented 304s get attention by showing their body and get viewed by 20 million views while you work hard and put effort into your production and get less views. Thanks! I'm glad that you think it's good, even though it isn't your thing; it means a lot! I don't mind if I get less views - like it would be cool if I got more, but at the end of the day, when I started making music, I never really expected a hundred people to listen to my stuff, much less 715 as of writing this comment. At this point, I care a lot about putting out songs that, while not everybody will like it, they will at least appreciate the effort behind it - because at the end of the day, I'm still improving and working on my craft, and that is the entire purpose of posting my stuff somewhere, for me to keep track of my improvement. I'm still nowhere near close to being up to the level of the artists that inspired me to start making music, but one day I aspire to be at that level. They say you need to put in ten thousand hours to become a master at something, and I've probably put in just under a thousand, so I'll wait nine thousand more before really caring about my views/listens/subscribers.
