Hi Puy ...I have been to Bangkok ,I'm Indian and witness Thai Ladies are really hard working and the Street foods they prepared vey clean, hygienic , every plate of food items n snacks ,drinks wrapped tight with nice coverings and in the evening dawn ,all sreets are colourful with decorative lights. I find Bangkok one of the most beautiful place on earth and I enjoyed a lot of Thai cuisine,Thai cultural show etc . The fact that she can just openly park her business (her cart) with little sign of security - AND - leave her crash-helmet on her scooter strongly suggests that her country has to be at the top of the 'Honest & Trustworthy Country' league !. Plus, her attention to hygiene is ultra impressive - but it's her work-ethic that is the most impressive !. Getting-up at 05:30 and not getting home to 1am+ ............. well, just - WOW !. These are really good videos. Not just for the food but how the shots are setup. There are always two people, her and whoever the camera person is. They set up their shots really good, from her getting up in the morning to her prepping and cooking and getting supplies and to closing up shop. Heck, they even did a ride shot so whoever’s filming is in a moped too. Even her going up and down the stairs. All of these are separate shots at different angles that have been edited together.

What an amazing woman!!! Wakes up early, prays, preps the roti dough, goes out to get the bag, drives her bike to her selling location while controlling her un-detached cart, preps her cart and all of the ingredients, cooks all day, closes shop late, cleans equipment and drives her un-detached cart back to her storage location....then drives herself home and thanks us for watching her video. A Solo woman show and throughout the whole process maintains her femininity with a smile on her face. Such a beautiful sight to see. Gosh, this video was an eye-opener!!!! I'm guessing that if Puy lived in the U.S., she'd be a corporate executive or entrepreneur earning six figures! She is so lovely, graceful and pious as she navigates the crowded, chaotic city of Bangkok to earn her livelihood as a street food vendor. One of my friends spends half of each year in Thailand, and when I asked him why he does, he gave me a non-answer. Now, I'm beginning to understand why he does. It must be the people of Thailand--kind, gentle, welcoming, unassuming people like Puy that are the true wealth and beauty of Thailand!

Puy is destined for success, I can tell from the bottom of my heart because she reminds me so much of my grandmother. Before our family got involved in plenty of businesses, politics, and living a good life, our grandparents had to go through a lot of hardships to get to where our family is now, just like Puy. My ah ma and angkong (grandma and grandpa) had to do plenty of back-breaking jobs. Ah ma was a laundrywoman who had to fetch the clothes from her customers, walk many miles to reach the riverside and do the washing there starting around 4AM then she’d be done and lay the newly laundered clothes on the hot stones near the river by 12nn. She brings her own food and have lunch under a patchy shade of bushes in broad daylight while waiting for the clothes to dry. By 5PM she walks back to her customer’s home (our Chinese relatives who mistreated her and didn’t see her as the wife of their brother, to them she was nothing but a dark Filipino slave) with all the freshly washed and folded clothes. They pay her pennies which she saved in a big bamboo coin bank. At night, she sews clothes of neighbours for a small fee and prepares the food to be sold to construction workers and farm labourers early in the morning. She did all that while she was 7 months pregnant with her third child. No wonder our uncle died the earliest due to heart problems, he was a sickly man-eve back when he was still a child. My angkong was a kind bus driver who always befriended everyone, he even lets indigenous people hitch a ride on the bus for free so he became a friend to everyone and always received gifts like live chickens, smoked pork, or beef jerky (refrigerators and elecricity didn’t exist back then in our town). He would always come home expecting a delicious chicken adobo for dinner only to find out that my ah ma sold the chicken to earn some money for their savings. It was a really funny story. After few decades of perseverance, they ended up with significant amounts of farmland, started numerous businesses, etc. until a corporation was born. The people kept convincing our angkong to get into politics because of how much he has helped our town and how much the people adored him given his charity/philanthropic contributions. My ah ma was always so considerate to all of their employees, salaries were never late and we always ate together in a huge dining hall she specifically built for us to have meals and dinner parties with the staff. They also got free lunches and dinners to take home as far as I remember. She was a force to be reckoned with, despite how my angkong’s family treated her, she still treated them with kindness and respect. The richer they got, the better their employees were treated and the more generous they became with our relatives-even those who treated her like an animal. She always told me “My child, always remember that money is not the root of all evil. It is nothing more than an amplifier of what you truly are as a human being.” Proof of this is on the day she passed away, we couldn’t even rest at all because people kept coming from all parts of our province during her wake - our staffs couldn’t keep up at all so the whole clan had to work and to welcome the people paying their respects, day and night! During daytime, the lines were so long they reached multiple blocks. They were much revered by the people. Same goes for my grandfather. People like Puy and my grandparents have taught me a great deal of resilience, determination, and pride in oneself. Mad respect for everyone who pour their heart and soul into their jobs. I hope everyone thinks about the tough lives they hide behind those beautiful smiles before they shout/treat them unfairly for something as simple as forgetting not to add pickles on their burgers or their orders being late for 2 minutes. The world is cruel enough as it is, a little kindness goes a long way.

Pui is an unbelievably hard working, beautiful, talented woman with super-skills. The workout she gets in a day with her routine is mind-boggling. The speed and efficiency of her work has to be seen to be believed. On top of all that, I really became hungry for some of those banana roti, which looked delicious. The videography and editing were 1st-rate professional quality. Wow! getting up at 6am, a full day's routine, setting up for the next day, and not ready for bed until 1am?! That's 5 hours sleep at most. I hope she got a break or two to rest and eat some decent food. Most amazing single video I've watched in years! Subscribed with all notices.

My family owned a restaurant and the amount of prepping is a lot of work. When the restaurant is closed, it doesn't stop there. We just had regular Canadian food, stil lots of cutting, dicing etc... So kudos to you, in you doing this all on your own. You can tell the passion that goes into your food that you sell.

It's nice that there is still a place where everyone works with the honor system and that everything that is not nailed down is safe. If this was the US, there would be 100 pounds of locks on everything from the spikes to the doors and I think the cover would be more stainless instead of a tarp.
