I just came back from Thailand and let me tell you, their Roti Pancakes are divine! I had them almost every single day and I don't even like sweet food. But even for someone who isn't crazy about sweet dishes, this one made me go crazy! The familiarity of the Roti and that Thai 'milk' flavour were an absolute win for me.

Trust me babe. Have been twice to Thailand but it's never ever felt enough. I just wana go back there again. I was there in October. I had watched several youtubers I follow who would grab some of these whenever they saw someone selling them. When I was there, I found someone selling them and knew I wanted to try them. It was so good, I went looking for them again only a couple hours later but they had already moved to a different location. Then the next day, my last day before returning home, I found them again and of course had to get it! So so good!

Ive watches some of these Asian street food vids & not only does the food usually always look delicious, the purveyors/cooks/ chefs who do the work are all artisans exhibit great skill & passion. I saw another video in a famous Cambodian food stall market where they make amazing spring rolls & yellow pancakes - the food not only looks good but you can see that they love what they do. Pride in one’s product & work is still a beautiful thing. Also, being half Japanese from NY, I was watching some vids on food carts called Yatai in Japan. Some of these yatai chefs wheel out their home-brewed food carts which are not only a kitchen on wheels but have a countertop style dining area all made from a little cart. Also, the street food is of high quality. The hard work & passion they put into it is amazing. I have only been to Japan once but hope to visit more Asian countries. I really want to try some of these foods that look amazing. Thanks to all those who open up the world & show us all the amazing spots across the globe. 🙂

specifically japan, the street vendors have to have a certificate basically stating they went and took school to be doing what theyre doing on top of having a vendor license. So yes, they show skill and passion because its what they laborously studied for and earned.

I’m a Thai and Roti is my favorite desert. It is crispy on the outside, softer inside, smells and taste buttery-sweet from egg, butter, and condense milk. The green color is either due to food coloring or pandan extract. I love the smell of pandan.

@@jakerazmataz852 True, the reality of what its like to live in a country can never truly be experienced by tourists unless they actually move to said place. I'm sure there's ugly parts of society there just like anywhere else, but I did a fair bit of travelling off the beaten path in my month in Thailand and I can honestly say I always felt relatively safe, and the people and places were amazing.

Awesome. Her work is so graceful, quick and clean. These rotis are called Parota in South India. It's served with mostly non vegetarian gravies and is the favourite food for many Indians .

I make banana-egg pancakes every morning & evening. Just 1 egg + 1 mashed (with a fork) banana, plus a pinch of salt and a few drops of liquid vanilla. Fry in butter & eat.
