I have an Eastman AR810CE (6-string). What brand and gauge strings do you use please? Thank you! (I know you tune down a full step, but I love the sound of your strings in addition to the rest of your performance and production.)

Hey! in this video im using D'addario flat wound chromes 11-50 (7th=65). Also at this time I was using zero fingernail/100% flesh, which I think is a really big part of the sound im getting here. I like the sound but I find it MUCH harder to play this way so ive recently gone back to playing with fingernails. Im now experimenting with tapewound strings to compensate for the loss of warmth that comes with fingernails. Who knows where ill end up haha hope this helps!

@@BrianGrahammusic Hey thanks very much! I thought they were Chromes. Good luck with tapes -- I found LaBella medium-gauge tapes way too "pitchy," and the heavy-gauge bottom strings don't fit through my tailpiece slots. Very comfortable though. I'm going to give Chromes yet another try -- after my next upload -- after hearing you use them. Thanks again, Brian.

Great playing! May I ask about the guitar - what is the model name and year of this Eastman? Is it still in production? I'd like to someday get a reasonably priced 7-string archtop, this looks like a great candidate.

Thanks!! I honestly don't remember the model name or year. I bought it off of guitarsnjazz.com/ check their site out.

Pretty sure it’s their special order Jazz Elite 16 (or 17?)-7 model. Anyway yours looks exactly like the one I bought from them at the end of 2023. Love the guitar. Love your playing. Will look forward to hearing more.

Work it out by ear you’ll learn more 😉 haha not a bad idea though. It would take me awhile but if I get enough requests for it maybe I’ll transcribe all my videos for people to learn
