We have arguably the best kicker in the league right now. He did the 4th & inches play to not allow greenbay to get the ball again with 40 seconds since our defense is so depleted. It was such a back & forth in the 2nd half that there was a possibility greenbay would tie it or win if they got that ball back.

Our kicker has only missed one kick this year. They wanted to win the game on offense and not give Green Bay the chance to possibly tie the game

Jake Bates, our kicker, is almost automatic. Last year was different. Last year, Dan Campbell went for it on 4th downs many times because he didn't trust the kicker we had. He always trusted the offense to convert, but he didn't trust the kicker. This year, he trusts the offense as much as ever and he has a kicker that is comfortable with 60+. It's the defense right now. We have 13 defensive players on IR and in this game, DJ Reader and Alim McNeil, both of our starting interior linemen, got banged up. Campbell knew the kick would be good, but he also knew that he couldn't let Jordan Love have the ball and a chance. It wasn't even a choice for him. Crazy eh?

Dan Campbell said in the media presser after the game that he didnt want to give GB the ball back with any amount of time because in the 2nd half they had a lot more momentum. Our kicker is extremely good.

Jake Bates is the truth, he can hit 60+ yarders with ease. But the defense is banged up, and Dan Campbell didn't want to leave the Packers with time to tie or win. Dan plays to win the game, we as Detroit fans appreciate him for creating this winning culture.

Yes this year our rookie kicker is good. He played for Michigan panthers kicking 60plus yarders in the usfl. We signed him and missed one extra point in the beginning of the year and one field goal last week against Chicago. So yes he’s pretty good. Better than I thought he’d be and ppl talk about how good his form is

He’s kicked more than 19 field goals. His first field goal on thanksgiving was #18 or 19

You go for it for two reasons...One if you dont get it they are only on the 20 with like less than 40 secs....Two he wanted to not give them any time to score...and lets add 3...either he afraid of their offense or just for total disrepect and to prove we cant be stopped....Imma go with the second part of 3.....ONE PRIDE....LET'S GO LIONS!

The exact reason of your reasoning, is why we went for it on a one count, instead of trying to draw em off side. Watch the line push on that again. It's mind games, if you're defense there, you cant jump or game is over, and if you cant try to anticipate, you get pushed off the line. Plus. They prolly never thought they were going to snap that ball. Bring into the fact of the matter that we have 13 starters out on IR for the Defense, and 18 Total IR. Easy decision.

Campbell always wants to end the game on offense instead of having to defend and account for mistakes, blown coverage, etc. On top of that Detroit's defense is literally fielding dudes from other team's practice squads just to remain competitive. They started 4 guys who weren't even with the team a week ago.

bates has range out to 70 so its all about not letting GB have the ball again. Campbell just believes his team is going to convert and they go into most situations thinking they are using all 4 offensive downs.

Is the kicker good? He’s missed one kick all year so yeah I’d say he is good. Dan didn’t want to give Green Bay the ball back when we are starting literal practice squad players in the front 7

@@wooleywan4021 its a division rival. Those games are always tough and the packers defense is really good this year. Chiefs almost lost to the Raiders and Panther and should’ve lost to the Bengals and Ravens. Lions are the best team itl.

You cannot be serious. KC has literally squeaked by on more than half of their games. I wouldn't even put them in my top 10 right now despite them being 11-1.
