“They carried me…" - a moving story of beauty from ashes in Foster Care

Little Madison came to live with her foster family a few days after she was born. From the day she was removed, her birth mother Lauren worked hard to show the courts that she could provide a safe and loving environment for Madison to live in. Through the emotional ups and downs of having a child removed, Lauren continued to show up for her daughter. Lauren, recalling the difficulty of that time apart from her daughter, commented that the foster family caring for Madison "was my main support, they believed in me when no one else did."
After a few months of Lauren working her case plan, the judge ruled that Madison could return home with her mom! This summer, a few years after being reunited with her daughter, Lauren made the decision to follow Jesus. In sharing about the joy and peace this decision has brought her, Lauren remarked, "I never have to feel lost again. I never have to carry the weight of me and my daughter alone. We are not fatherless. We have a father in heaven and we are going to be ok."
