This video is very important for barbers. What I've noticed in this industry for 3 years now is that it's easy to get wrapped up in the label of "barber" a lot of people still associate it with the stigma that we're still hustlers. It's important for us to not distance ourselves from stylists. People think to only go to a barber shop for a skin fade, temp fade, 1 fade etc. It's only hurting us when a business man wants an all shear cut or a woman can't come in and get the same quality as a salon would offer. We're a new age of barbers that I think need to get comfortable with every style and look out there something I strive to do with each client that gets in my chair. Cheers my brothas

I must say this is one of ur best videos , I’m a license Barber and Cosmetologist . Just received my barber license four yrs ago , hair stylist for 20yrs. This video was very was right on point . When I went to barbering school I was amazed at the teaching skills and the culture of barbering . I feel from experience that barbers should continue their education not only with other barbers but also from hair stylist .

I reckon the main difference is; Barber's are better at fading and using clippers in general, hairdressers are better doing an all around scissor haircut

I'm a hairstylist but I've been working under a barber that turned hairstylist and I work on a military base so we definitely offer both styles in our salon. Interesting to see it broken down like this because I figured all salons could fade.

As a barber who had experience working in both barbershop and hair salon, I find it interesting how different type of people would go to a barber/hairstylist depending on their hair lengths. I learned a lot of while working in a salon and I'm glad I'm able to incorporate both styles into my cutting

here it is not a question of competing between barbers and hairdressers to see who is better, but simply trying to be at the forefront with the various cutting techniques and geometries .. in my opinion the barber gets along much better with fades while a good hairdresser with solid foundations is much more advantaged as regards the upper part and the various geometries .. geometry is everything, if you have confidence and knowledge you can indulge yourself .. as an example between the fusion of barbers and hairdressers c 'is josh lamonaca and his menspire...however i love your videos and your tutorial, you are a master barber

From my experience and for what I prefer as a haircut I like going to barbers who have experience in a salon and a traditional barbershop. Really try to stay away from barbers who are trying to cut as many people as possible because they usually only have one style in mind. I've changed barbers so many times for this reason. Currently going to a barber that takes the time with the top cut and can fade like no other. Not only that her style is not one size fits all, she really customizes haircuts to the customer's head. So if you can find a barber that has a desire to blend both world's, IMO, you've found a gem. Which is why I am willing to pay the amount I pay for a cut.

Barbers are learning longer styles mate cutting the sides shorter but leaving length on top.... hairdressers are moving towards a shorter men's style with a more sport orientated society, gym culture, so guys want a more manageable cut.
