For those watching this case recently just like me, On January 17, 2024 Heather Mack was sentenced to 26 years in prison.

Thanks for this comment, I wasn’t sure whether to watch the video or not (bc I have already heard the case many times too, and Heather is just the worst, infuriating). Looks like her mom was kind of a dick too! But she didn’t deserve what happened to her.

Yea I remember watching a six year old KZbin video on the case and someone put a link in the comments under the video. When I a clicked on it, it took me to another YT video of Heather with some friends & Sheila. Sheila was cussing out Heather calling her a slut & a bitch & saying "Are you gonna fuck him too Heather?!!" And all her friends were just standing there awkwardly. Heather had this bewildering look on her face and it was obvious that Sheila had a drinking problem. Seems like the situation was doomed from the very start. However I still think Heather is a danger to society.

I don’t feel sorry for Tommy at all. As you pointed out, he was older. He was making poor decisions the entire time, and consulted his friend on how to murder Sheila. They are both horrible people, and it sounds like Sheila wasn’t much better. I hope Heather is convicted and in jail for a long time. And I hope the baby girl can be adopted, maybe by one of the older Mack children. What a mess!

This was the smartest murder to be honest. Do it in a global south country which have very lenient prison sentences since they don't often deal with much western style "crimes of sociopathy", play the damsel in distress in a country where it's much easier to convince "a poor fragile helpless woman can never do such heinous things", live in a fairly lax prison with focus on rehabilitation, and get out in 8-10 years.

Hey Zara! I’m late to comment lol, just found this one but I’ve been binging your videos (you are great!) and so glad to have heard this story through your voice! I went to Oak Park & River Forest High School with Heather and I guess Tommy (didn’t know him though). This case happened years ago but is still a shocking and disturbing story in our community and is talked about often. I have tons of anecdotes from folks that were actually friends with her and she seemed like a selfish person to say the least. It’s crazy and sad that her entitlement led her down this path, and so awful what her mother went through in her last moments. Despite Sheila’s past and overbearing/abusive relationship with her daughter (on both sides), she did not deserve what happened to her. She was a human being. Heather is back in Chicago now, in prison downtown, right where she deserves to be (not lounging around with Bali friends in the sun). Thx girl!

This case is sad. Sheila was not as bad as Heather was trying to make her out to be. Is Sheila perfect? Absolutely not. But I don’t believe one single bit that she was an alcoholic and that she said the N word to Tommy. And that’s because she knew about the pregnancy before she and Heather left for Bali. Heather was horrible with her mother and every time police were called it was because of Heather doing something to Sheila, not the other way around like what Heather claims. And sadly Sheila’s sister says that she doesn’t look or think of a suitcase the same way again after knowing what Heather did to her own mother. No justice was served in this case.

I’m obviously catching up with your videos (I enjoy your videos). I had heard of this case a while ago (maybe yrs) while she was still in prison, but I’m glad you covered it because there’s more to it. I wasn’t aware that she now has pending charges, here in the states (which I’m glad she is) but also, she made some videos, found them in Tick-tock (I believe while she was still in prison) confessing that Tommy is innocent, that she began plotting killing her mom while she was still in Chicago, that she would send Tommy messages and prior to him seeing the messages she would delete them. She confessed that she send and deleted these messages because this is the way she framed him because she didn’t want to go to prison by herself. So, in these videos she was apologizing to Tommy (I’m glad she did) and yes I do feel bad for Tommy because it appears that he was most definitely framed for the murder of her mother. I also wonder when the case/pending charges will take place, here in the state of Illinois?

I'm definitely curious to see what comes of the charges here in the US. I do feel bad for Tommy on a way. Just a idiot, love bombed dolt. I wish his mother did get custody of Stella. Actually, in the US we do have plenty of prisons which allow mothers to keep the baby with them until the age of two! It’s not at every prison but is becoming much more popular as it lowers the rate of women returning to prison and is much healthier for baby! We also allow female inmates to have cats and dogs as apart of training programs and therapy programs! Inmates train service animals and therapy animals and are allowed to keep the cats.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it 1000000 more. STOP GIVING YOUR KIDS EVERYTHING! STOP SPOILING YOUR KIDS AND PUNISH THEM!! punish your children! Be a parent! There are so many cases where the child is spoiled, allowed to do anything they want, and not punished properly where they turn on their parents or parent! Giving your kids everything does not help them!! My parents never hit us but if my dad gave me that one look I would piss my pants and stop doing what I was doing! All this without laying a hand on us!
@Boing2699 Жыл бұрын
Yeah this case is an ugly combination of lack of discipline and lack of room for heather to grow, lack of help for her while grieving, etc. it seems like her mother kind of thought she could buy her daughters love and buy her daughter’s healing after the death of heather’s dad. I feel like if heather had been properly loved my her mom after her died died, she wouldn’t be looking for the rest of that love in deadbeat guys, she wouldn’t have felt entitled to other people’s money and possessions (her mom encouraged her shoplifting habit and then seemed to think she could just be all “stop that, silly. Let’s go to bali.” When her daughter did something bad to her, bc if it was something bad to someone else she didn’t really do anything). I do really think that if heather’s dad had lived longer and/or her mom had been a good, supportive mom, heather would have turned out a lot better. She could have grown up to be incredibly talented and accomplished like her dad/kinda like her mom, but she was treated as her mother’s support system when their husband/father died, instead of like a young child who just lost the most important person in their life. All of that being said, what heather did was despicable and I’m glad she’s in prison. It just makes me sad to think this horrible thing could have been avoided.

Thats crazy...it sounds like Heather was living the life of riley in the prison especially to have had her daughter wirh her foor the 1st 2 years n then weekly visits?!?! Tommy seemed to be infactuated with Heather n went along with what she said to kill her mother. The problems were between heather n her mum n Tommy seemed to kill (help kill) her mum because of the problems with Heather n her mum. I really hope Stella haves a good life n hopefully Heather has sorted herself out to be the best mum she can be to that little girl (although i personally dont think she should have custody)

I feel that they both got off very light for murder. Also, the estates should be under a court appointed conservatorship. Otherwise Heather may squander it all or worse yet murder her daughter to get it all. We’ve already seen what she does when she’s not getting her own way.

I think parents have to cut it off when kids are extremely aggressive …. Disrespectful and selfish ……. Only they want to use parents as their ATM machine for cash … Love can’t help you to restore relationships… best way of outcome is to let go and if that child repent and comeback embrace that kid … I know it’s hard to do what I am saying but at least it can save life and dignity … this murder was well planned but lack escape plan and she is very sadistic …
