Josh Pate himself prior to the game was talking about how OU would be able to test the defense and this secondary vertically. He said that NC State didnt have the guys to really test the secondary but OU had the speed to do it... they didnt and then its "Oh well they didnt have a quarterback to do it."

Honestly I’ve got a ton of respect for the way this game plan changed as the data changed. Fairly early it looked like the only chance Oklahoma had to win was via their defense. Barring a defensive score or two or maybe a punt return for a TD and a defensive score this game was ours and the game plan shifted to reflect that. Kudos to the players and the whole staff for being able to deviate and respond to the data and get the win. Great job y’all. Go Big Orange.

2 things....they move the goalposts on us cause we throw goalposts in the river...and 2. The ones complaining about the play calling would be the same ones calling for coach heupels head if he continued calling a normal game and nico got hurt. The way I see it, we walked out of Norman with a huge win and our season pretty much still in tact

@Tithulta1 A lot of what we are seeing for the overall defense is the work of Rodney Gardner's D-line letting the rest of them play more freely. Nobody Is able to work up to the 2nd and 3rd level on those guys. That let's the 2nd and 3rd levels do their thing. Rodney Gardner's line is why this defense looks the way it does this year. Tim is definitely dialing it up though.

When we play Georgia and Bama, our Defense isn't gona have the same pressure or yards against us, but we have the Defense and offense to beat anybody. Teams are gona learn the hard way to stay way from #3 McCoy. I'm excited about our opportunity at Arkansas. They like to run the ball, and Arkansas should've beat oklahoma state and be 4-0 right now. We need to go in and make another statement with a a 20-point win.

I was very skeptical when they first hired Heupel. Then I was skeptical about his commitment to defense. After seeing that locker room speech, I have ZERO skepticism. This IS one heck of a coach. No, returning to Norman was never about him even though that's what the national media tried to make it, but you could see what it meant to him. GO VOLS! GO BIG ORANGE!

Like I mentioned in the live yesterday. If we learned anything from UT baseball it’s that relationships between coaches and players helps propel the team into championships. Hell look at the Celtics and their run back in the day. Still contributed to the team chemistry and the coach. We got something special and I agree. I hope it’s around for a long time.

listen UT is a great football team you got HEUPLE to thank for that and a great coaching staff and they found a new life in the vols new way of playing that fits in perfectly!! can say all these great things and every team is different so fourth! I'm happy with the way they are playing but whats going to take it balls to the wall is if they beat teams like ALABAMA and GEORGIA!! well then there is no denying! consistency thru the whole entire season that's the key! hey if they played defense like they did aginst Oklahoma they will be virtually un stoppable but every team is different JOSH knew the sooner well! its that consistency of continue to figure teams out and having there number that's what I'm looking for out of TENNESSEE football so far so good and if they keep up they will not be doubted by no one!!

Heupel’s post game locker room speech was as good as I’ve ever seen! I already knew that Heupel was the real deal but every week he shows another reason to believe 🏆 Vols fans and Vols haters, let’s all keep in mind that NO coach is perfect not Saban not Kirby not Bear Bryant or Gen. Neyland and neither is Heupel!! Boogie, it's my unprofessional opinion that one of the biggest realities we Vols fans are failing to recognize is how much the OK game reveals that Dylan Sampson is THAT GUY. Everyone wants to ride Nico, and I don't blame them. But credit Sampson; he is carrying us and making it look easy. Bishop had his best game yet as well. And we're only going to get better!!
