30:12 Even before DK was added as a separate class, Death Knight cards were considered their own "class" and counted for any synergies that ran off of other classes. For a while Kibler ran Lich King in his thief rogue for that reason.

I've been playing my "definitely not a rogue" deck in standard ever since Maestra was added. It's mostly neutral "discover a spell" type cards, plus some other interesting neutral package, like disruption cards. It's never been that good (was much better with Cloak of Protection) but It's always been a personal favorite. Always fun to wait to reveal my true identity until the latest possible moment.

for the record, as it’s not seen in the video; Generated lich king cards from The Lich King or his dog now count as class cards. They’re replayed by tess now! Unfortunately, rogue can’t replay dream cards from ysera.

Thinking on it, if they added a mechanic to warrior (like they are doing to priest) they could add keyword BLOCK. I don't know exactly how it'd work, maybe if a card with block is equipped or on-field then reduce dmg by X amount Ex. Block 2 would block 2 from all damage to minimum of 1. It would fit more thematically for sure and if you made block part of certain minions or low statted weapons that'd work (Like weaker and cheaper versions of the Bulwark of Azzinoth). Highest the number could go imo is 2, maybe higher for a legendary or a 1 turn effect (Like 1 turn of 5 block). Just a cool idea even if it was too weak or strong.

Guardian still is armor based, nowadays they spend their rage on "ironfur" to get a huge boost to armor. In comparison Warrior while having the highest base armor, has fairly little in the way of healing once you get past their defenses. So in wow, warriors take basically no damage until their ignore pain breaks, and then suddenly they're the most healer dependent as their self-healing is mediocre. In comparison druids can rapidly heal to full. so druid being more tanky is pretty thematic. I do think though that warrior should get better armor generation in hearthstone though.

Because ETC is a great card, duh.

Maestra and Wyrmrest Purifier are both even costed. Tess is odd costed. This means that you could not run that combo in a Genn deck before. By putting Tess into ETC you are able to turn into another class and still have a 1 mana hero power with Genn's effect. Nearly every other class from rogue has a very good interaction with Genn.

It's less thematically appropriate that druid is the main armor class over war, Yes guardian druids were known for high amount of armor but they were more known for being jack of all trades master of none with everything in their kit being solid. While protection warrior over the years has been the nearly immune to physical attacks tank which would fit it being the high armor HS class more than druid. Just my 2 cents as mainly wow player and HS watcher only. That being said they really need to buff warrior.

@@okamiseven Not talking about classic or tbc, BFA/SL/DF is my pov. And in these xpacs warrior just simply mitigates auto attack dmg way more efficiently than druid. Armor capping with ironfur doesn't beat shield block and crit block with Ignore Pain.

@@Mrlonefighter doesn't mean they're going for class fantasy from back then, I mean you have a Demon hunter from legion after all. Yeah thats about when MoP ended/WoD started. Back in mop warriors had absorb called shield barrier which could also go towards flavour of warrior armor as the effective health increase but not health actually which in HS is armor. I enjoy this discussion so hopefully it continues as class fantasy flavour is like books, up to interpretation. At the end of the day i wish they'd let warrior have a viable armor based control deck almost all the time, while druid rotating between nature spells(restoration and balance specs flavour) and armor control/midrange (guardian/feral) every few xpacs.

I feel saying it is thematically appropriate for druid based on WoW is somewhat missing that this is hearthstone which has its own identities which are very, very disconnected from WoW inherently. And armour was the one thing warrior always kinda had at the core of their identity, so giving druid, the class that has always felt very favoured and with an abundance of its own class themes in hearthstone (treants, mana cheat, combo decks, deck buffing, etc) most of which were somewhat meta at all times, the one thing warrior had at the core of its identity to give warrior incredibly underwhelming "meme" cards (which lets be real, feel like they just exist to display finale) is a bit eh. While what you said may very well be their reasoning, It does feel like they just really, really despise warrior and have no idea what they want warriors hearthstone identity to be. Because at this point, warrior barely even has a stand-out class identity anymore, as before it was "the class that controls and gains loads of armour" which it has now also lost to druid.
