I owned an XT 4X2, which I drove for 1.5 lakh kilometers before being involved in a severe accident that led the insurance company to declare it a total loss. Despite the severity of the crash, I walked away without a single scratch. People considering Maruti vehicles should take a look at the pictures from that accident and reconsider their safety features and the value of their own lives.

The irony is, when Hexa was in the market, all the Indian auto channels were busy with finding it's flaws. Now that it's gone off the market, everybody is praising it! Tata has always been the risk taker in terms of bringing innovative products but never got it's due.

I was accumulating money to buy this beast. Apparently I was too late. Today I am an owner of a Tata Harrier BS6, which is a damn good car - but a car nonetheless. Harrier does not have the "BEAST SUV" factor. I have to say, it was the hangover of the Hexa aura that made me buy the Harrier. As usual, great content by EVO.

Finally! haha, my dad kept asking when will evo make a video on the Hexa! Our family once did an entire northeast tour (7 people + rooftop carrier luggage) in our XT Manual 4x2 and it was absolutely flawless. Still runs excellently, only that Tata has completely dropped support for possibly their best SUV in the last ten years. I still think it looks better than the current Tata range as well. Looking at the Scorpio-N these days, Tata Motors would really really have a winner in their hands if they resurrected the Hexa in perhaps a new Avatar. What a fantastic and desirable product. I will never forget myself drool and turn my head in admiration and awe looking at a Hexa on the road. I always did, and I still do. Harriers and Safaris of today are fantastic! Fantastic video, as an owner of the 2017 XTA, the video just reminded me of how rich the vehicle is in terms of driving dynamics, comfort and features, kitted up pretty close to a Q7 of similar vintage. Thanks @evoIndia ! About the 19 inchers, I think the flaw here was more about not providing an integrated TPMS than the tyres themselves, which probably made it difficult maintaining the right pressures. We've had a TPMS installed throughout and it ran on stock rims and tyres without any issues.

the hexa feels like a cousin to my safari storme of the same year (2017). everything you said about weight and the butch suv feel that makes you feel safe no matter what craziness is brewing outside is so very true! tata used to make such legendary and incredible vehicles. their no-nonsense take on the earlier "flagships" is such a distant concept to manufacturers today. skimping out on the build of the vehicle for some fancy electronics that barely serve purpose apart from filling out the spec sheet with the introduction of stricter fuel norms and spec sheet obsession the days of cheap iron are gone. i would love to see a safari storme or even a dicor episode of this series!

Sirish, thank you for curating such an amazing series that truly touches the heart. Your passion for these machines is evident. Regarding the Hexa, I believe it was an excellent product, and Tata should have continued it in its original form. While many prefer SUVs, I’m sure there were also traditional MPV buyers who would have chosen the Hexa. Maintaining a platform alongside Omega Arc would have been challenging, but it could have kept the Hexa name alive. Tata could take a cue from Mahindra and bring back 4x4 low-range gearboxes, which would truly align with the "Reclaim your life" philosophy.

You guys should do a video on the Tata Bolt and Zest, too. Because those were also as good as the Hexa in their particular categories. I had a 2015 Tata Bolt XMS Diesel. It was an amazing car with features like 8 speaker Harman Sound System, LED information cluster, bottle tray below co-driver seat, height adjustable seats, adjustable steering wheel, floating roof, leatherette steering wheel, illuminated window switches on all doors, spacious cabin, good mileage( maximum got upto 25km/l), great performance, 9th Gen Bosch ABS with EBD and CSC, quality interiors, the seats which you've talked about the Hexa even we experienced it on the Bolt too. It had amazing seats and suspension that even if we traveled in that car for hours, still we won't get tired or have any other issues, and also the car was very reliable too. I always wanted to drive that car until my dad sold it in 2020 because of some other issues, and when I turned 18 and got my license, the one thing I missed was my BOLT. Now, my family has a Tata Punch, Suzuki Baleno, Citroën ec3, and after driving these cars, none of them were able to replace that Tata Bolt vibe in my heart.(Also, having a 2009 Mahindra Bolero, which is different in its own league).

We were looking at purchasing a XUV500 back in 2017, this is one of the other options we looked at. Initially I was not convinced, but the moment I got in it was so spacious and felt upmarket. However Mahindra was Mahindra and we went with the xuv500. Don’t regret it even a bit.

I own a Hexa and I agree with what you said, Sirish. It is a much better car than the Crysta in certain aspects. Crysta lacks Hexa's ride quality, which is most important on highways when traveling with family. It is a very put-together product and I absolutely love it. Will retain it as long as possible. Feel sad that people did not buy it, but it makes it more special on the road :-) Loved watching the Video.

Tara's 1st 2 products on the X1 platform which was later used to create the Nexon a blockbuster in Tata's n sales charts alike. I am talking about the Manza n Vista awesome cars with that famed Multijet Fiat engine. It even had steering mounted controls way back in 2010. Wow!

That's true. The Indica is like the Nexon's great grand father

I owned a Tata Aria from 2015 to 2020. The Last batch. Did 1.25 lakh kms. Enjoyed every km. The comfort was unmatched. Sold it. Wanted to buy Hexa XTA but before I could mobilize money, the last car in TML factory was sold in December 2020. Bought Tata Harrier BS6. Till today, regret selling my Aria. TML should consider relaunching the Hexa. Sirish, please take this up with TML. You can certainly make a recommendation.

Great Video. I remember we doing a Test Drive of the Hexa, and the ride was so good. But my family was reluctant about buying a TATA and ended up buying a Crysta. Could you do a video on the PAL Peugot 309, if ever you get a car?

We hope you enjoyed the video. We shall try to do a special on the PAL Peugot 309.

Hexa is just another example of Indians disliking Indian products no matter how well engineered it is, can't blame Indian consumers either, we tend to seek value proposition and sometimes get overboard with that. Great content as always Sirish, can you feature Hyundai Santa Fe on this series, though it's gone and forgotten but was a good car after all.

Hexa showed how basic Tata has become now. When we were planning to buy hexa, it was one of the best back then in terms of value for money, the base didn't feel like a base variant, lot of features etc. Still remember being shocked to see projector lights and comfy seats. Right now Tata base don't even come with a basic stereo which u spend 15+ lakhs.

Love the series, can you do one on South Korean brand Daewoo? imo, they launched good cars too- The Matiz, Cielo. My dad had one Cielo when I was a child, one hell of a car.

Glad you're enjoying the series. Yes, we shall be doing GBNF episodes on the Daewoo cars.

The main issue was the Punch Powertrain automatic gearbox. Come to Mumbai and you will see at least a dozen Hexas at auto transmission repair centres. The brakes were weak if you opted for the automatic version. They felt wooden. The Hexa automatic was thirstier than the Crysta. But, the music system was just chummeshwari. Tata nails the AC and music system in their cars.

Awesome video on the Hexa! You guys should totally do one on the Maruti Suzuki Kizashi a 2.5L petrol engine, 6-7 kmpl mileage, and ₹16L on road. It was ahead of its time, but those who could afford it didn’t want a Maruti. Could make for an interesting story!

Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, we will make an episode on the Kizashi aswell

My Tata Bolt XT has done almost 90k kilometers, and just like Sirish said about the Hexa, there's not a single rattle! The ride quality and seats are so amazing that I’m always up for a long drive. The AC? Still ice-cold. And it’s as peppy as ever-effortlessly sits at 120 km/h. My dad just don't back off from praising how he can cruise over the bumps like it's nothing. Tata really had something special back then, and this car proves it every time I hit the road. Honestly, Tata cars now feel more like gadgets on wheels, but my Bolt? It's got soul!
