I owned Safari Dicor 2012 model, Safari storme refresh model in 2015, Hexa XT Manual in 2019 and now bought New Safari in 2022. I have both Hexa and new safari right now...No vehicle comes near to Hexa in terms of Ride quality, built quality, space,suspension setup. It's a true beast. A true 2.2 Ton , 2.2 Litre 400 nm torque engine. Forget about innova, new/old XUV there is no match in ride quality..

Recently because of health reasons i have to sell my Hexa and bought new Scorpio N Diesel automatic. I like old school Ladder frame SUVs. Scorpio N is good but when ever i go on bad/bumpy/rural roads i miss my Hexa. True beast. 🙂

One of the best SUVs with brilliant Ride, Tata Hexa is gigantic and quite bold somehow. Although, Tata could've update it with even more features. However, I Liked the 2.2L varicor motor under the hood.

@@TheDownToEarthPerson1425 no, it meets bs6 in tata yodha bs6 pickup, that's a varicor motor bit downgraded, i have seen many jeep compass too having problems with engine, just last 2 weeks back on my way home, i saw one jeep compass open its hood stranded in the road and the owner looks frustrating. It's just that when it comes to tata, just one issue, people spread it like wild fire and they generalise it.

@@TheDownToEarthPerson1425 no, there's no relaxation on commercial vehicles...It is heavily downgraded varicor, they put a fixed geometry turbo, use Lean nox trap tech, put a limiter which restrict rev only below 4000rpm as its max torque comes at just 1000rpm to 3000rpm, this is crucial for low emission, and they have tuned for low end pull only....suitable for pickup. It sounds very smooth for a commercial engine as it comes from hexa 320nm. The other hexa 400nm has different piston rings and compression ratio as said by tata in one journals which i read before its launch 5 years ago.

I own a hexa xta from December 2017. Can't imagine the places I have been too. Terrific companion. Super ride. Excellent automatic. Great space. Nice seats. Super alloy wheels. Still it's a head turner on roads. After riding with me, many commented the same saying that this car is totally under rated. I bought this at 19.5 lakhs on road. Can't imagine a car at this price for such a car now. I won't be selling this car anytime soon. So happy with my hexa. Wish it was still on sale now. It would have eaten so many other cars at this price range.

This was a gem of a car. Excellent and proper 7 seater with good boot and all creature comforts. Infact it came with a capable 4*4 as well. Sadly Tata decided to kill it with a Nakli Safari ( Safari means 4*4 and new Safari does not have this characteristic and neither it has a boot with all 7 seats up.)

It's got 400nm of pulling power, the 4x4 torque on demand can do offroading, good suspension travel, super drive modes, it rides brilliantly, build like a tank, high water wading capacity, macho looks, 200mm of GC, can carry 7 people, brilliant TC transmission which can do 0-100 in 12 secs for a 2.2 tons mammoth, what more do we need...

I own Hexa's 2019 model XM+. Great VFM with excellent features. High speed stability is great, Cruise control making Highway drives so effortless, wonderful suspension setup and Eco Mode delivers decent mileage too. Service costs between 7k to 8k. No issues faced so far. Aircon is definitely noisy above level 1 and Rear camera resolution could have been better.

As you are preferring the automatic variant, make sure you check if the brake pad replacement has been done in the service history. Also check suspension and ride quality, all 4 tyre condition and if battery is healthy. The automatic is a relaxed cruiser on highways, but mileage can be little lesser compared to the manual variant. Best luck for your purchase..

Adding to the problems faced in my 2017 Tata Hexa XE posted earlier I had an enroute breakdown while driving from Katni to Bhopal (distance 430km) on 25 June 2023. After driving for about 40 km my ABS light came on followed by another light. As it was 40⁰C plus temperature and my parents both aged 85 years were with me I decided to continue. However soon display went blank, ac & blower stopped working, all electricals i.e. lights, indicators, horn, wipers, windows operation everything stopped working. It became unbearably hot inside & I had no choice but to turn back. As soon as as I turned back engine stopped & failed to start. I had to arrange taxy for my parents to return to Katni and they had to wait in the scorching heat for nearly two hours by the roadside at 85+ years of age. I contacted Tata Motors roadside assistance which reached after nearly 3.5 hours from Jabalpur. Fortunately the vehicle took a jump start & I could drive 50 km to Jabalpur without electricals, horn, indicator etc. After dropping the vehicle & spending the entire day in 40⁰ C plus I (aged 58 years) had to arrange another taxy to return to Katni. The vehicle was in Jabalpur Tata Service Centre for three days during which the electrical system was checked and battery was charged. Apparently a 150 amp(?) fuse had melted causing a series of problems. I was charged about 3400/- for the repairs. After the repairs I had to take another taxy from Katni to Jabalpur, collected my vehicle & drove 350km to Bhopal but all shaken up. The entire episode cost me close to Rs 20000/- including change of travel plans. This Tata Hexa has done only about 34000km in appx four years of running. I am really scared to take this vehicle for any outstation trip, the very reason for which I had bought this SUV.

Hexa was a phenomenal car with great and rugged SUV looks, 19-inch alloys🔥🔥. It has brilliant road presence. The engine and the automatic gearbox were brilliant. Especially the safety factor and build quality was on PAR. Even tata offered fully loaded features, smooth ride and 4×4, but as always good cars get discontinued as our indian market doesn't appreciate good cars.

@@dipakvanjani8967 it's a good car if it is maintained well. Get it serviced regularly according to the manual. Change the parts and fluids according to the manual. I would recommend to go for the car if the car condition is good. Get it inspected by a good mechanic. It regular service cost may go from 6000-10000(expected)

I have the Hexa XT and I've driven it in some of the worst rural roads. The Hexa is solid in built quality but the 19 inch slim profile wheels are not for the rural roads. Will complete 5 years in October this year and so far have used 3 pairs of front tyres alone, but the stock bushes are still intact.

This engine is reliable. There are many Hexas which have done more than 2 lakh kms and still running strong. One can verify in Hexa owners group Problem is with Tata service centre guys who don't clean the EGR valve due to which it fails. It's the same EGR used by Volkswagen.

Many doesn't know but Mahindra MHawk & Tata Varicor was developed by AVL Austria @same time with a similar architecture & concept. While MHawk was developed to a great engine overall through the years but Tata chose to axe Varicor from passenger lineup altogether.

slight correction... you can actually fold the second row seats completely until the headrest thingy touches the floor and it's quite easy to jump in to the 3rd row after that
