Can Chase or someone explain why it was pass interference when these are in the NFL rulebook as things that are allowed: a) Incidental contact by an opponent’s hands, arms, or body when both players are competing for the ball, or neither player is looking for the ball. If there is any question whether contact is incidental, the ruling shall be no interference. e) Contact by a player who has gained position on an opponent in an attempt to catch the ball. I don’t think the ball was overthrown or under thrown I just think it was thrown to someone who was clearly in the worst position and the defender should be allowed to slow down if slowing down puts them in the perfect spot for the ball to go through their hands and bounce off their face mask. They shouldn’t be required to just allow the receiver to keep running straight to the ball when they have position on it. The defender is clearly tracking the ball in the air and so is the receiver which is why they bump.
@weilingaby30294 ай бұрын
@@JaaMizzou22 OK, per Wikipedia -- "In American and Canadian football, pass interference (PI) is a foul that occurs when a player interferes with an eligible receiver's ability to make a fair attempt to catch a forward pass. Pass interference may include tripping, pushing, pulling, or cutting in front of the receiver, covering the receiver's face, or pulling on the receiver's hands or arms." I think the key is interfering with a receiver's ability to make a fair attempt .... The Lions db cut in front of BA and clearly in the path of BP so his action prevented BA from a fair attempt to catch. The defenders are allowed to cut in front of receiver or bump the receiver but only within 5 yards from the the line of scrimmage. After 5 yards, it is PI. The db had the right to the ball but not before the receiver having a chance of fair catch. Maybe someone with football knowledge sheds more light on the subject.
@JaaMizzou224 ай бұрын
Okay someone who isn’t just going to read Wikipedia which has less details than the NFL rules. I think they picked it up because another ref saw that he was looking up at the ball the whole way. There are tons of times where there is PI and they catch it and don’t pick the flag up.

The NFL has a serious credibility problem with its officiating. The Lions Vs Rams was really bad and led to some serious injuries. The players figure out right away what isn’t being called and adjust. Lions lost one of their best linebackers on the third play of the game when he was first held as he ran and then pushed from behind into the blocker. The low hit by the Lions safety on the Rams tight end, blowing out his knee.

I just caught that and commented, too! Amaze. 🤘 …tho kinda makes Deebo’s effort look a lil more halfhearted in comparison, and I don’t think Brock expected him to jump in his lane like that. Purdy totally blew my mind with his poise, pocket awareness, and his legs in that 2nd half. Brock Purdy should be the favorite to win the league MVP especially since Lamar crashed and burned against the Chiefs. People that doesn't think Purdy is Elite are fans of other teams or haters because of the Trey Lance situation. Nobody cares at this point that he was the last pick of the draft. Good for us and bad for other teams. We have a ton of bandwagon pretender fans that hate on Purdy. Every single big play, Brock is just getting up, and walking back to the huddle as he would if it were a 1 yd run up the gut or a sack. Each time as if to say “job’s not done yet.” The whole team was like this. You pointed it out after the BA touchdown. That play where Brock got smoked but was able to throw to Deebo exposed the weakness of the offensive line. This was on Jake Brendel not picking the defensive tackle who had a clear shot to Brock. John and Kyle need to invest in the offensive linemen either through the draft or free agents. Everyone knows that a lot has been spent on the defensive line. Niners need to make sure to keep Brock upright but also to ensure the freak accident from the NFC wild card game against Philly doesn't happen again. They have a lot of draft picks for the draft and there is no excuse in not getting those missing pieces for defense. This includes cornerback as well.

There are two weaknesses for SF: D-line and O-line. Because the d-line can’t get pressure, the secondary is exposed. Because the O-line is sub par, Brock gets the blame because the pocket collapses. Those two sides of the ball are the keys to the game vs KC.

All this video is showing me is how bad the O-Line is for basic blocking techniques haha! IF they do not get anything sorted out for o-line Purdy will be in some doodoo!

Love the fact you're the only one that noticed that it would have been a PI on that Ayuk catch. When everyone was saying oh that would have been picked off blah blah blah... Or bat the ball down. No we would still be in that area for the score.

The first half was the Defense playing like crap, it had nothing to do with Shanahan or Purdy. It starts with Wilks and the players on the field.

Purdy's brain and is amazing. He's nowhere near top seven QB in regards of talent shit that dude is nowhere near the top 12 QB in regards to talent right now. But.....he's top 3 in regards of processing and that's worth a fucking lot. I'm glad that he's our QB. He has elite processing skills I would say.

Our overpaid defense needs to start earning their pay. It shouldn't be this much on Purdy.

I think shanahan told Purdy to run more after that first half int, I know as a qb you want to step up in the pocket but his arm was hit resulting in the turnover, as a qb you need to know when to tuck it and run especially when the defense didn’t game plan for that

At 27:24 does #32 stomp Purdy’s leg? That timing doesn’t look like incidental contact. Dirty move if so.

Lets,be real ; they had that lucky interception miss where it bounced up in the air and the receiver snagged ir. Great catch but really lucky. Then there was the batted pass that went straight to a receiver just over the first down marker. This accounted for 10 points. Detroit out played them but made some poor coaching decisions, yet without those 10 lucky points they still would have won. Lets be real is all I'm saying.

You see #32 on the lions at the last play of this video? You see him try and hurt Purdy by stepping on him… what dirty player…
