One of the problems is that there were many Germans who favored dictatorship, because the previous governmental system (i.e. Weimar) was weak, inefficient, and ineffective. The same thing has happened in the US over many decades, and now you have a large, uneducated population who don't understand the basics of democratic government and why it is vital to prevent authoritarianism. Misinformation? Elon Musk is in an agency that was renamed. That agency was a website design group that had a mission that it had to *consult* agencies. Musk isn't *consulting* anything. He closed doors. Congress would have to approve this, but Congress cannot approve after the physical closing of an agency. The agency records are not to be accessed from outside the agency, and agency records are not controlled by the President by law. This means that every document that he saw could have no identifiers of any kind, and quite frankly, those identifiers allow political motivations.
