We are so happy that you are getting around. 😊 we also understand how rough it is not being able to pet the animals. Know how when something gets your attention the thought in you head goes right out, happens to me all the time. We have one who had some shoulder surgeries a number of years past. We QUICKLY learmed to avoid crowds becaisenof tje jostling. I also walked behind and to the side (body centered at the elbow of the arm in a sling), both arms free, in public to fend off anyone about to bump, touch, or grab the injured arm and shoulder. One armmormtjemoyjer wmet up with "assertiveness".

We had goulash a few nights ago but hubby’s on a ‘Fall food kick’ for suppers-he can be such a Goof, lol...Well-we haven’t had chili in a little while...And Chili IS a Great Fall supper...Cooking it in the crockpot Sure helps when I’ve got other things to do, too...Just have to make the cornbread before we eat but that’s quick and easy... Glad to see you up and about. I hope your arm isn’t paining you a lot. Know how awkward it it not to be able to use a limb . Never had that much damage but had a broken ankle and torn rotator cuff at the same time. I wasn’t able to be on my feet a say or too due I couldn’t use crutches due to it the injury’s were on both sides . It was quite challenging.

I understand you have taped up the windows to the chicken shed for painting but leaving the tape on and having it exposed to the sun it will be difficult to remove the tape when the time comes. Don't know your plan or schedule but wanted to point out a potential problem. I really like the Polish chickens hope they work out for you all.

I’m surprised you were able to go out monster shopping, but then I hate shopping. LOL Now I use a shopping app and delivery. I used to grocery shop, unpaid for people with age and mobility issues. Now I have to pay people to take care of me. Hate being homebound! I was an outdoor person most of my life. I’m glad you seem to be tolerating your meds better! Flexeril helped me a lot in the 70’s and 80’s. Flexeril hit me harder than opioids ever did. Totally based on each individual. 🙏

With yoir good arm and hand, lift the end of the sling. You may or may not be able to lift the sling between arm and neck too. And yes, let ice be your friend; all the more so simce you are sensitive to the pain meds.
