THEY FIXED BM AOE?! | Patch 11.0.5 PTR Update for Hunters | Marksmanship Tier Buff, More BM Reworks

REVISION: I am not happy with how I approached the MM Tier Set Change: A crucial context for that change is that Precise Shots now only has 1 stack in Patch 11.0.5. The Tier Set change is mostly to ensure that it still basically functions, given that change. The 10>20% buff ensures that we at least have similar numbers. It is still a practical DPS benefit assuming they fix the bug (if they don't, it's even worse than before).

Also you only need to use one global to get the full benefit of the tier set with this change instead of two, that’s better, I’ll wait for you to tell me if I’ll need to play around it though 👊🏻

Keep making survival and mm better but hard nerfing bm. All 3 specs underperform to most other classes idk why blizz hates some classes and specs soooooo much and others they love and buff to crap.

Having played since Vanilla and played hunter since WotLK, Azor you are the biggest help to come along for hunters ever. Tarlo and others are definitely fantastic too but you are solely standing at the top. Thank you for the efforts you put into making videos and tutorials for us!! I absolutely agree and laughed when you quickly slipped in "it could have happened sooner thought." OMG so f'ing true!! It's disgusting that they nerfed bm's aoe into the ground to tune st and let it go through the first 6ish weeks of the new expansion. It's also disgusting that they continue to not fix the bug with MM's arcane shot not applying it's benefit to aimed shot... like WTF, it's such a huge dps loss for st.

Thank you for talking about how bad multi-shot feels to push! I sometimes feel crazy because people assume since BM is so easy with so few buttons, it must be for you even if the AOE damage rotation isnt fun. I get multi-shot makes kill command AOE but like you said, Multi-shot itself just feels so bad to push and you have to push it so often, even with the talent that helps kill command extend your beast cleave duration

Great video, thanks so much for posting and helping fellow hunter mains understand these changes. BM Multishot, was there ever a more pointless spell/button? Like you say 300% of a small number is still a small number, this spell to me is an obvious fix, you don't use at all in ST, you have to press it in AoE, ergo make it do actual damage [5% overall] and/or have it do something as well as Beast Cleave.

It is neesh or nee'sh.. these are really awesome videos and like one of the other commenters mentioned I wish the changes would come sooner because it is kind of hard already to get in a key because of the AOE damage that is lacking, but really looking forward to the changes and seems like we are on a roll...I do like the comment though that 300% of a small number isn't really that much lol. The changes to Rhythm present a situation where BM could become extremely gear dependent. At lower haste values worrying about the uptime of Rhythm could become very laborious. Additionally, pooling focus for burst aoe, as is required in some encounters, could become extremely punishing.

So I guess they don’t intend for any spec to play Pack Leader. The fact BM AoE was released in the state it is in and effectively left to rot until 2 months into the xpac is a sick joke. They got feedback on it in beta and did nothing. Also, why are they not outright deleting Basilisk collar?

Pack leader being left in the state its in currently is honestly ridiculous, give survival players that hate Sentinel (most people, no?) another option and make it actually do something for BM other than just being a kick to the groin. 30% dps decrease for my badly geared hunter... Only badly geared because of the absolute state that hero talents are in, can't stomach playing it.

I fully agree. But Basilisk Collar is gonna be an issue even at 2/4%. It has to be changed entirely IMO. Maybe have it empower dire beast to sometimes send out a Basilisk that does cleave?

Right direction, but tab targeting deathblow procs to spinkle DAs around while maintaining BC and slamming BSs with KC rotations is gonna feel clunky inside the 6 second beast cleave window. Getting rid of multishot for BM and replacing it with a passive beast cleave talent would make the aoe rotation a bit less chaotic.

I think the beast master hunter (is it BM in English? I use the full name to prevent misunderstanding) needs to add a passive skill: those damage skills (or summoning skills) that start with the BM character itself are all changed to start with the first pet. For example: there is a short-range passive fire skill on the equipment, and the buff gives a long-range passive laser skill. Melee professions can choose to rush to the boss to passively trigger the fire, and pure ranged professions can choose to trigger the long-range laser skill. However, the BM itself is very fragile, and it relies on animal companions to frequently attack and output damage. This causes the BM to want to trigger the long-range passive skill, but the trigger frequency is not as high as other ranged professions, and the short-range passive skill is not as high as other melee professions, and it loses mobility. The BM should follow the skill logic of the hunter artifact Titan Strike in Legion 7.0, release the skill to the pet's location, and cause range damage to the enemies around it. Lock the skill starting point on the pet. In addition, I think BM's weapons should be more like laser pointers or batons. Since BM's mastery is to increase the damage caused by pets, then why is there a problem that the boss hunter has a higher hatred value than the animal companion, and the animal companion is easily killed with one knife?

Honestly they should just change beast cleave into a stance that you toggle on and off. On makes your pet do less damage but makes it cleave/aoe. Multishot feels horrible and maintaining beast cleave on top of your rotation just feels awful.

@@Azortharion I just don't see how this will fix the joke that is BM AoE right now, it's hard to prove the negative, tho. The video itself points to the nerf of Basilisk as something that would allow Blizz to tune AoE without making ST broken, but there is no meaningful AoE buff to compensate for this loss. So are we waiting till November to something that will allow for an even further update that will fix AoE? I don't see it. The state of BM AoE damage is abysmal, unacceptable, specially considering Blizz allow it to be that way after beta testing. Can you explain why and how you believe the BM AoE damage will increase so much to become barely acceptable? I don't see it.
