@@ash21113 that was partly due to circumstances though. City beat utd 3-1 and 4-1 at Maine Road and the Etihad respectively during his time at utd but Keane was either injured or suspended for each. So whilst technically he did not play they did lose a couple whilst he was there as club captain. He may have prevented one or both losses but they were both by a decent margin of 2 and 3 goals so odds against.

As a Liverpool fan I watched hoping United could win because form goes out the window in derbies, but this was terrible. The lack of fighting spirit. You know what's sadder? Been a ManU fan for nigh 30 years, you're spot-on. Absolutely disgraceful. Never in my life did I think I'd see the club become this pathetic. No fight in this lot, no backbone whatsoever. No PRIDE. @UChbH9Tz4k-VLmzGxY3ZF4Iw I'm a Liverpool supporter and we went through something similar, however, when Gérard Houllier was appointed, we managed to somewhat, stabilise as a club and win some silverwear and the same with Benitez. Feels a little different with utd at the moment. Maybe that's board level filtering down? Is it wokism? Has mental toughness been eroded finally because agents are so powerful to manipulate for a move so there's never accountability? Soon, we will get woke managers... (these players going on to coach)... And then, I feel football will be dead. But the league needs these GREAT rivalries that carry on all season... Not just for 1 competitive match.

Rubbish. Keane left in 2005 and they immediately won 3 leagues in a row. Then got to 3 champions league finals in 4 years. And then won the prem powered by sheer character with a weak squad in 2013, 8 years after Keane left. 2007-9 United was the best the premier league has seen.

Everyone needs to calm down and get a grip. Yes we know United had a good run lasting years, and we know United fans think they're entitled. I mean look at Leicester, Newcastle, Leeds and Everton at the moment.

You mean Leeds who are going for their last roll of the dice, desperately trying to change things till it works? You mean Newcastle, who have completely turned their ship and are now genuinely looking like there's a possibility of top half? You mean Everton who nearly held man city after their manager change, if not for a penalty call that the FA actually apologised for? You mean Leicester who have given Liverpool a series of bloody noses all season, and who are only in the lower half because of all their postponed games? United were a giant, are still meant to be a giant, they still spend the highest and make the most. In my mind the important thing is punching above your weight, like all those "failing" teams are. united though are punching well, well below theirs.

The main problem is frequent change of coaches in the post Fergusson era alongside poor recruitment - 5th now and potentially a 6th come August, same set of players are being retained with little changes. Despite the poor display, those players are confident of staying in the team with the coach potentially being sacrificed at the end of the season. The simple question is how many United players would enter City, Chelsea or Liverpool's first eleven ?
