Oh man the beginning broke my heart. His career was so tragic and for a change little to none of it being his fault. Man gave *blood* *sweat* and *tears* for Boston feeding him empty promises then giving him away to adopt a broken flat-earther. I was legitimately raised a celtics fan and I'm not being dramatic when I say I stopped calling myself a celtics fan that year. On God I do not root for them anymore. What they did to IT was cowardice and greed in its truest form. I've never regretted jumping off the band wagon and now seeing literally just the first minute and a half of this video I'm more pissed off at that organization for what they did years ago. I refuse to have loyalty too an organization that isn't loyal. Smmfh 🤦🏻‍♂️

Isaiah will always be my favorite player next to Derrick Rose. Straight dawg! It meant a lot to see a 5’9 player out-competing virtually everyone in the league at some point. His scoring ability is so majestic and I still have my fingers crossed, hoping that he won’t give up and that he’ll still be given an opportunity to shine again. As you said, out of every single player in the NBA he’s at least earned a spot over one of the players who make no impact and have no history like his. And that would be the majority. Doesn’t make any sense to me. In any case-if not in the NBA-I hope to see him playing overseas and in leagues and eventually in the NBA Hall of Fame one day. Straight legend! When he hurt his hip playing for the Celtics the doctors recommended a pretty invasive surgery. He decided to just try resting the hip for a few months but he quickly realized he wasn't able to play like his old self. He tried having arthroscopic surgery on the hip but it didnt work as well as he hoped. In the summer of 2020 he finally gave in and had major surgery. It took almost a year to rehab and build up strength in the hip. All that hard work seems to have paid off because he looks like he did while on the Celtics.

He's inspirational, but everytime you see a player really good and they're between 5'8-5'10, you can't help but wonder "imagine how good they'd be if they were just 6ft." It's just a few inches, but those extra inches usually make a big difference. Can turn an alright player to a good player, good player to a great player. I noticed this yrs ago on the AAU scene when I saw very small players that were really good, and it sucked when you'd look over and see they had tiny parents, and you knew they weren't very likely to reach 6ft.

@@DavidJones-si8ig being short does have some advantages as well, he's able to move his body a lot quicker than most of the big guys which is why his handles and ball movement is so clean and that allows him to cook 6 footers with ease. So happy to see this video. I had season tickets at UW when he played there. He was un-guardable, but I wasn't sure it would translate to the NBA. Same thing, in the NBA, no one could guard him one on one. Sure they could drop back 5 feet and hope his jumper was off that day, but no one could stay in front of him. He could blow by people at half speed and still gather for a nice finish against the 7 footers. Nate Robinson had a few more years of good play too, but teams took a pass.

I've been watching IT since he was tearing up my Cougs and Klay Thompson with UW. Every time he took a shoot we just assumed it was buckets. Seeing the clip on twitter where he said they gave up on me made me pretty emotional since just a few years ago he was one of the best scorers in the league. The only knock I can think of is that his hip injury might still be causing issues but......I doubt thats the reason why. I hope he gets a good deal and shows everyone the mistakes they made

@@sym1546 players were loyal. Even if you want to start with Lebron he gave Cleveland everything he had but they couldn’t get him what he needed, help. So he found a team/company that would. That’s like becoming a lawyer and working at a firm that doesn’t supply you with the proper things to build your cases so you switch firms. Things changed when players started acting like owners. The NBA is a business before a game.

That's why fans wanting a player to stay with a franchise is ridiculous. If they feel like the owners are respecting them or don't show mutual loyalty and respect, then they should definitely leave.

The first year I started watching basketball frequently, was that season and I can remember he was such an elite scorer... and he was so much better in the 4th quarter. I remember he lead ppg in the 4th by so much, it was like 10... so nuts. I would love to see him back, even as a scoring punch off the bench and I've heard he is finally fully healthy again

Isaiah Thomas is my favorite player of all time. It's so sad to see him bounce from team to team with nothing more than a 10 day contract. Teams just don't give him a fair chance. If he could stay with a team, develop relationships, and practice plays more, he'd do extremely well, but teams see him only drop 10 points during his 10 days with the team and drop him. Then he enters the G League and drops 40, then he's signed with another 10 day contract, and it all repeats. It's heartbreaking. I hope IT finds a team soon. Here's hoping that the Hornets keep him around. Unfortunately, they aren't giving him much playing time, so it isn't looking well

considering his height and he was able to dominate the NBA like that automatically puts him as one of the best. If he had that same skill set and mentality with more height, longer arms, legs, Wider shoulders & more strength he would literally be a god. He has to burn so much energy to score & get open for shots and to get to the paint but he still can run the whole freakin game and shoot efficiently 😳😳😳 its mind blowing

@@quirkyskelly4157 Veteran who understands the game? I mean bounced out in two first rounds and an ECF sweep loss doesn't exactly strike me as a play-off vet. 22-6-3 isn't bad for play-off averages for a star player, but 40% FG and 30% 3PT is quite abysmal, that's like worst player in the league type numbers. However, it is a rebuilding team so I suppose they probably aren't too focused on the playoffs. Regular season then. 16-17 he averaged 30 pts as the 28th most efficient player in the league, All star worthy, maybe even an all NBA team I'd say. Outside of that he's an inefficient low 20 pts per game scorer. He's a league average shooter, he's injury prone, and he doesn't play D. He isn't going to teach youngin's how to win (as he doesn't know himself), he's not going to teach them the fine details of an NBA defense, and he's played in 500 games (less than Andrew Wiggins lol). On top of not being a vet, he is also a ball dominant score first point guard. This is bad for any young guards who need time with the ball and any young bigs who would benefit from having a playmaking point guard. Okay offense and nonexistent defense on a guard whos in his 30's with an injury history is not exactly a recipe for success for literally any team in the league. If he can pull a Melo and become a solid shooter with a small ego, and finally bump his injury problems he could maybe find himself on a team that seems like they're on the verge like the Blazers were, but no contender nor any rebuilding team is gonna give this guy a contract. Even if he can drop 60 on a bunch of college and euro players and Paul Milsap's old ass, he played 40 games 2 seasons ago and preformed basically the same as he always has, his per36 stats are bang on his career averages, he just played less minutes. He's the same player he was before, maybe with the impact of an injury, it's just that no team has a use for his skill set.
