The character was not a hitman; he was a high-level military operator, who just happened to go on a rampage for revenge. 🤷‍♂️ He didn’t take money for ‘hitting’. He took money for forensic bookkeeping.

That isn't where the film starts. It starts with the shooting during the stakeout involving Treasury agent Ray King where King first meets Christian Wolff. You have some other holes and flaws in your description.
