Actually, the funniest part of your comment is that it was because the Westerners loved this movie so much that srk actually built a global audience. It was the first film in the indian industry that had a huge impact in Europe. The bridge where srk and kajol were standing has a banner of them together in the bridge to date. It's just sad that how indian audiences actually have forgotten to have fun with films. They don't understand that the joy that bollywood delivers with sweet romance is just unique to them.

He actually confessed and meant every word, you can see it in his eyes, sadly her reaction and pause told him she didnt feel the same way so he opted for PLAN B and pretended it was prank and had a great fallback. After all the laughs pass Raj then brings it back to the table and asks her the 2nd Qs which then she pauses again and HE GOT HIS ANSWER.

If you like their chemistry you should check out 'My name is Khan'. Srk is phenomenal in it, playing an autistic character. Also other iconic movies of them are 'Kuch kuch hota hai' and 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham' which stars both of them plus Hrithik playing Srk's younger brother, Aishwarya's in-laws being the mom and dad and Kareena playing Kajol's younger sister.

Plus, having fake President Obama deliver the key “my name is Khan” line was Peak Cringe™️ (from a bad Obama impersonator, to boot), and the American actors were almost all terrible. As Kanan Gill would say, the screenwriter over-screenwrote. (Even Karan Johar himself has admitted he went overboard with the script.) MNIK was so disappointing because it had the makings of a potentially good movie, an incredible soundtrack, and its heart was in the right place, but boy, did the execution fail. (That said, I did think Kajol was quite good in the movie.)

This is the only way to see this movie, dancing to the music, enjoying long musical pauses, enjoying the movie scene by scene, being present in the moment, I don’t know if it’s the similarity of the Spanish culture and music but I adore you’re reactions..I wish we were friends and like watching this together..like I cried along with you when you saw aashiqui-2 and I already knew the ending. 12:40 You guys underestimate how strongly secular 90s India was. When we grew up, we were just introduced that there is a "God" and all the religions are just him in different roles. (Much easier for hindu kids to buy into because we were already comfortable with there being many "gods". Jesus was like one of them.) I remember being as excited for Christmas as on diwali. Most of us know all the major traditions and major differences in all major religions. Of course you learned more as you grew up and realize that was an innocent way to look at world. It's all changing now though, unfortunately, and identities are getting rigid.

Nice guys... finally seeing the movie a whole generation of Indians (maybe more than one) fell in love with (literally) and many of people still say a lot of those dialogues as well - This summer, we took a trip around Switzerland going to few of the places where these were shot. A lot of those scenes happen in Gstaad and Saanen villages in Switzerland and of course at Interlaken...That bridge where SRK stands and says 'Palat, Palat' still has a poster of SRK and Kajol on them - the airstrip, Church(inside is a different church but even that is in Swiss), Sporting Center all are there in between these villages...As someone who grew up with 80s and 90s, this was an addiction...don't even know how many times I have watched this movie!!

This movie is so special..it is the longest running film of all time..still running in the cinema The time that it came out, the characters, the love, the romance which felt like soft and gentle..it's changed the way romance was portrayed earlier , everything in the movie made it special, the fact that it came when globalisation in India was beginning- the film portrayed the message that we can still be Indian while accepting the western influence but according to our conditions, it gave the message the love can be won by sincere efforts and we don't need to necessarily fight with the parents and go against them(which was the dominant kind of story that was portrayed at that time) , the hero of the film was not the angry macho man anymore, the idea of love from a woman's point of view, the heroine was not just a love interest and a prominent role, ofcourse SRK- Kajol was again working together, but this film established SRK as the romantic hero, Aditya Chopra's first, the whole cast, the amazing songs -evergreen songs... May be the film didn't intended to give all the messages that it did, but it made sense to us, it was relatable and desirable at the same time. ❤

People in India now regard these iconic films as cringe just to basically hate bollywood on the influence of social media. The trolls on various iconic movies have put this image into the young generation to categorize these 90s films as cringe. You guys watched k3g and liked that, too. People due to toxicity have completely lost the feeling of enjoying simple films like ddlj, kkhh, k3g, mohabbatein, etc. These are the films that once you watch with a free mind, you will always want to watch it again. Last week only kkhh was telecasted and I couldn't miss the sweet chance of seeing Srk, kajol and rani together. The music of the film is just so good too.
