Ahhh Snape looks so calm & collected in the movies, but the book Snape looks half a sec away from exploding & the moments when he does lose control are so delicious. He's like a feral street cat. The scene where Harry gives him the message about Padfoot is one of the most iconic Snape scenes. He just walks in, insults everyone and dips. I really hope Kristen reads the books someday. There is so much more to the characters she fell in love with and that's what the author is good at, character writing ❤

Yes, good point. That’s why he didn’t kill Voldemort (he wanted Fudge and MoM to see V is alive. D also knew of the horcruxes remember and that killing Voldemort’s physical body wouldn’t do much harm, but only temporary. Also, D has an ethical, moral compass; he wouldn’t do anything such as killing unless absolutely necessary, right to the last point.

When minerva steps down during conversation with umbridge the topic was disloyalty she stepped down towards the students on hogwarts as this is where her loyalty is. Btw, this book is more fun than movie especially after umbridge become headmistress, everyone in school made it their goals to make her life a hell including teachers, whenever students played a prank through stuff bought by Weasley twins even if other teachers could do something they didn't and instead called umbridge for every lil thing, even participated in it.

The reason why HBO has taken the painstaking task of making the Harry Potter Series based primarily on books is the loopholes and credibility issues with the movies in terms of character design, story and of course with cutscenes. 😑

throughout fifth book, Snape is seen so many times lose his anger. specially Sirius and Snape sparrings were so great. The way movies make Snape as some hero is one of the reasons I don't like movies that much. Also James was not the reason Snape got into Dark arts. He was always fascinated by it. he also used to be friends with other deatheaters(which they became later). He also hated 'Mudbloods'. The only reason he came to Dumbledore is stated in 7th book(He only had one redeeming quality) which movies again twist. He is definitely a very complex character but he is not a hero.

How come Michael doesn't remember that it was Marietta, Cho's friend who actually ratted DA out on her own. I did not like what the movie did here. They kind of made it plainer. In the books, Hermione teaches Marietta a good lesson. Cho and Harry fall out because she literally sympathises with her friend over what happened to the whole DA and Dumbledore. Also, she starts getting jealous of Hermione. This book hurts the most. Sirius' death hits me the hardest in the franchise. He had such a sad life, but still, he loved his close ones the most. He was ready to die for his people. He didn't deserve this. Also, he was the only family Harry was left with. After I first watched this one, I started hating Helena Bonham Carter like literally. She is so good.

I agree that marauders were not saints to be exact but in their defence the death eaters recruitment and indulgence of dark magic during their time in Hogwarts was at its peak with many Slytherin house members openly recruiting them snape was not all innocent and had started indulging with dark magic, and students whose parents or relatives were pure blood and death eaters and were openly recruiting Slytherin house students to also be death eaters one of the major reasons lilly broke her friendship with snape. Snape even called lilly mudblood openly. That was the reason James and his group bullied Snape openly after that. It may look all bad on James part bullying is not justified but no one actually talks about the good part of the marauders that they protected so many students of not just gryffindor but all other houses from Slytherin bullies and death eaters kids who were much worse in all aspects. So they may be notorious or even arrogant at times but they were not bad. And snape in his Hogwarts years didn't have much of a character.

Don't blame Choe, she was not the one who turned them in. In the book it was s friend of Choe who joined and betrayed the DA. Because of Hermione being so smart she had put a spell on the sign up sheet, which required everyone to keep the DA secret , when she disclosed the secret she instantly regretted it and feared if she revealed more, she would suffer even more. Dumbledore's escape from his office is so much better in the book than in the movie.

There was already an explanation explaining about why sometimes expelliarmus knocksback the duelist whom it has been cast against. I remember tid bits but it involved the strong emotions. Like to cast a spell is to have an emotion backing up your intent while casting it. For example when Harry hits Bellatrix with crucio to cause her pain but it isn't that affective because his conviction to inflict that pain was not strong enough. Similarly when Snape casts Expelliarmus on Lockhart during duelling lessons in chamber of secrets well snape hated Lockhart and put all his hatred in that spell which sort of knocked him back
