Spoilers: Ok so this episode goes into a different direction after this. So turns out the shooter leads them back to a brother and sister, who's father also was imprisoned for life by the Chinese government. As it turns out, their father was caught because their mother turned in documents to the Chinese incrimiating him, although didn't realize he would get such a harsh punishment. In her guilt, the mother killed herself, and Alex, the guy who got killed, found this out and was planning on writing a book or article exposing their mother for getting their father arrested. The daughter hired the gunman because she could not live the idea that their mother's memory and reputation would be ruined (which Alex didn't care about, cause he just wanted to stick it to the Chinese government).

This is by far the most cockamamie episode of L&O I ever ever had the crappy experience of watching! I guarantee you that if you watch it ten times, taking copious notes and drawing outlines in several different colors, you will never know what's happening, you will never believe the ending, and none of the characters will make any sense or any impact at all. 🥴🤮🤷 The acting by the guest cast is superb, especially since they couldn't have understood the plot either!🤪😂
