Another found washing machine, what's up with this one? You won't believe how easy it is to repair!
Thanks to all who commented on the last video. Test wash.
Beko WTG741M1W: It is broken, is it worth fixing? Could it ever be an economical repair? What should I do?

Honestly the no display one and this one are pretty good Beko's, if both work fine you could sell them. But as I read your other comment you would need to treat rust for it as people don't buy rusty machines

Could be worth doing a full clean up video? I did one of my new Beko I just got, it’s worth buying a pump from Beko spares, even if you didn’t keep this you could keep that pump anyway :) also doing some wash cycles would actually be interesting, it’s also very flexible on cycle times (I use cottons on mine mainly) but daily quick is good!

We have this beko in work but the 8kg drum brushless one it’s really quiet and good for what they cost. I myself have the matching dryer 7kg it’s quiet and good too pretty quick I am impressed :) my old white knight condenser dryer was 11 when the drum started going but was always loud from day 1! and took a lot longer considering it got hotter than the beko does. They are good for what they cost I think. If my lg washer died unexpectedly I would probably buy a brand new beko. 🤷🏻‍♂️but yeah they use loads of water on rinses

One propeller gone and it seems to be draining noticeably slower. I wonder how much slower would it be able to drain with 2 ... 1 propeller left :P Rust, clogged and dirty soap drawer, black snots in drain water ... 4 years and machine is trashed. WOW

I found a Beko WTB841R2W on the kerb a while back, it was fully working but the only issue with it was the pump was blocked with a colour catcher, nothing else was wrong with it at all, some people are either stupid, ultra lazy or have too much money
@bootsowen

Sometimes I find them and there is nothing wrong, they are on the kerb beside a dishwasher, cooker and extractor hood, sometimes beside a skip with a ripped out kitchen inside. You can't stop progress!

Beko's are not the most fabulous machines to look at, there pretty cheap made. But.. they do run for along time. that door seal has defo gone wrong. needs just pulling on and putting back on, the door lock probably broke and got replaced and the door seal just wasnt put on right. The expanding foam is strange. LOL, i thought uh oh its over the drum or something cos its been broke. Yeah the filter / pump damage is easy fix :D yeah sadly rust does happen :( seems alot easier to happen these days, even my 2 year old hotpoint seems to have bubbling, no idea why

Do you know any manufacturers who don’t produce a washing machine with a sealed tub these days? I suspect the Miele stainless steel tubs are not sealed but you cannot be certain. It would be cool if a few people came together and put a list of sustainable/repairable machines together that people can buy. If the bearings are ok on this machine, then it’s criminal that it’s been tossed out just because it looks a bit rough
@bootsowen
@bootsowen 2 жыл бұрын
Ebac make a repairable machine. If I was buying a new one I would get one of theirs. Good warranty. Good reviews. Have a look at their website.

Bosch Serie 2 & 4, LG, Samsung, vestel made, midea made, Haier made machines are split tub, pretty sure Miele are still split too

I know that LG has a screw type tub and it's 3 years old. I do really like it. All LG's being made still have screwed tubs. Miele also, though Miele are expensive and I wasn't that impressed with the one I used in 2017 that was new.

@@bootsowen sadly they don’t sell them here. I’ve emailed them a year ago but they came back saying that they were looking to broaden their market outside of mainland uk but they need to figure out service contracts etc. Also, Which gave them a terrible review but then again I’m not sure who to believe.
@randomirishthings1115

@@LaundryGuy1500 I’ve read on experts reviews that the Bosch Serie 4 are now sealed tubs sadly. If the Samsung are definitely split tub then that’s a big plus as I’ve heard they’re excellent machines. I just wish that manufacturers told us if their tubs are sealed or not. I don’t think we have LG washing machines here in Ireland. Same as Ebac.

Is it normal to put appliances on the kerb in your country? in our country its vorbiden at penalty, we have to bring it back into a domestic appliance shop...
@bootsowen
@bootsowen 2 жыл бұрын
It is forbidden with a penalty here too, and it completely depends on what town you live in as to what the mannerisms are. Any illegal dumping (fly tipping) here is, well, illegal. But for some reason it is acceptable to leave metal things out on the street because scrap collectors will take them. People leave "good" things on the step of their house or the wall out the front with a "free" sign on it, or just inside the gate of their drive, then it is not fly tipping because the trash is still on their land. But there is also a problem with real illegal dumping, fridges, mattresses, bags of trash etc, which I find strange, because the local council waste recycling centre will take all of these things for free if you bring them to them.
@Adoraswiss
@Adoraswiss 2 жыл бұрын
@@bootsowen well, you re absolutely right. but here even the for free thing (on the kerb) is not aloud, if the city enviroment police find out u do this, u got a penalty too. u say it, its realy shameful, lot of people dint care obout others, enviroment and cleanliness, they are so ignorant, lazy and stupid.... :-(

Owen, strangely (for me) I can understand why this was outed. Not been looked after and difficult to get someone to repair it. However you can't help the helpless, it's in the job title, and so more waste and stupidity is created, cheers

@bootsowen 2 жыл бұрын
Andy, sometimes your view of people is a little bleak. I agree, some are helpless, but then there are the idle among us, and the plain lazy, even if they wanted help they still couldn't act on it. There is also the sheeple factor, they will follow. "How could I get it fixed, I haven't go the money?" "I can get a new one on credit". Maybe your cynicism rubs off? I'm going off to count washing machines, and despair at my own idiosyncrasies.
