In an interview I saw , they asked Mitch and Scott if they treated Kirstin as one of the boys and they started to laugh and said it's more like they where one of the girls .

They were, especially in the early days (where we saw more casual videos of them), very aware of Kirsty being female, as in her safety in crowds and traveling. You could see the males gather around her when crowds got close, take her arm or move around her when people were bumping and not careful. (Of course she's small too. I suppose she'd been accidentally knocked into or stepped on often.) She made jokes about them walking her to her hotel rooms and once said something about expecting them to be standing guard outside. Gay or not, they are big and she is not. They are protective of her.

As a gay man, please don’t address us as LGBTQ; I’m sure it wasn’t intended in a negative way but it’s dismissive. Scott and Mitch are Gay. Not saying the word gay comes across as if you actually can’t deal with it so you’re just going to lump them with the others. Great Reaction! Please ignore the negativity; you were very respectful and I appreciate that and like your personality, reaction and ideas. As you already know from other comments and seeing other Pentatonix videos, Matt Salle (in the white jacket) has been their bass singer since he replaced Avi in 2017. They have different styles and personalities but both are great. I was heartbroken when Avi left but really like what Matt brings to the group. I fell in love with Matt after watching him take the lead in "Mr Grinch". They are all so talented and sound great together but each one has a chance to shine in their different videos.

Mitch doesn’t give a rat’s a** about whether you use he or she. The Sounds of Silence was originally from Simon and Garfunkel who did amazing work in the ‘70’s. I know to some this is heresy, but I prefer this version. I love Mitch in this song-beautiful. In all the current songs Matt and Scott are wonderful, but it is always Mitch and/or Kirsten who kill it. In the day, Avi was my favorite. If you haven’t yet, watch Imagine, but have tissues ready.

Scott hates labels hence No Official Front performer. He is the Engine that guides the band. Scott and Mitch's original KZbin "Sup3rfruit" and they did finally change it to "Superfruit". It shows their friendship and entertainment. Scott and Mitch have been friends since they were 10 years old and Mitch met Kirstin when he was 8. They were Community Arts Theater kids and their blends have been going for 20 years. PTX just celebrated their 10th anniversary and they have a 10 year plan for the future.

I want to reiterate that I, personally, love your respect and concern. I also like that you chose your own song to react to. Keep doing that if it's what you want to do! It'd be nice to get some variations in reactions and not always the same standards. If you count Christmas songs, they have more than 200 options. Nothing says we need the exact same 20ish all the time 🙂 If you keep reacting to PTX (please) you are going to feel completely vindicated in your concern over the fact that Mitch might not prefer male pronouns. Even in the livestream where I got the answer I gave you - that he does self-identify as he/him but accepts she/her - he responded by saying it was an excellent question. He enjoys fashion genderplay, both androgynous looks and straight-up "female" fashions. He absolutely rocked a dress to the Grammys one year. And at one point he was experimenting with Mx. rather than Mr. (don't know if that still holds true, he evolves and explores options). Then there's his solo persona, Messer 😁 But Mitch is just Mitch. He was never in the closet (came out at 15, I believe) but he is very open about his struggles with anxiety. He skipped his highschool graduation to be on The Sing-Off where Pentatonix got its start and they all moved to LA less than a week after they won, per Mitch's dad. He jumped straight into the deep end with this crazy life he's living. He and Scott - who is almost exactly a year older - were very co-dependent (their words) for the first half of their career, living in each-other's pockets. They rented a house together, roomed on tour long after they needed to financially, and were just plain always together (platonically). There's a livestream back in the day of Scott sitting in a parking lot outside a store talking about how he was having trouble getting up the nerve to go in because Mitch was in Texas visiting family and not with him. Fans (myself included) have always latched onto how amazing their friendship is, and bemoan that they have grown into some distance, bought their own places and developed other meaningful friendships/relationships, but the reality is that they are probably much healthier now. Anyhow, there is a perspective. Neither here nor there, but your shirt made it pop into my head - Mitch used to have a Spongebob half-sleeve 😄 He blacked it out last year.

OMGOSH THIS song takes me waaaaaayyyyyyyy back to my high school days. We had a jukebox that was in our cafeteria and This was the most played song. If you could try this artist out - Aussie singer - Darren Hayes. He was with Savage Garden, then solo (for most of his career). Because as on OG, I can tell you with cited sources that Mitch never came out of the closest because he was never in one. Scott…. Different story. Sadly, as of right now (Nov 2021), their upcoming tour doesn't get closer to Florida than maybe TX, PA, MD, or KY. As a Floridian myself, that was the first thing I checked when I found out they were going on tour again. I have enjoyed your reactions. You are kind and you don't use bad words so the whole family can enjoy you. You are doing good learning about Pentatonix. They do have videos of "the making " of some of their videos, their performances on The Sing Off, and stories of how they got together. I would suggest that you take a look at these. As far as the Sound of Silence goes you did good with your reaction but you missed that Scott, who is a baritone, is covering the bass while Matt, the bass, was doing his solo, If you want a good sample of what Matt can do check out Mr. Grinch. The group has come even more forward since Matt joined the group.

Mitch is gay, but he doesn't care at all about pronouns, and has been out ever since he was a teenager. Mitch calls himself by both he and she, sometimes in the same sentence, but he has never gone by "they/them". The only real problem he had with his sexuality was when the group got their start on the show The Sing Off. NBC refused to let Scott or Mitch discuss their sexuality on TV and they refused to allow Mitch to sing in his highest range on the show. Once the group was out from beneath NBC's reins, he was no longer publicly restrained. Actually, the world tour Scott was promoting at the end of the video was the tour that they were on when the pandemic began. They will be resuming that tour shortly after the Christmas tour ends. The Christmas tour is usually a relatively short one and I think they are only going to the midwest and their home state of Texas this year. I live in Texas, but the closest they are coming to me is about 200 miles away, and because of a bad knee injury I'm dealing with, I won't be able to make the trip. I just can't do a 400 mile round trip in a car right now.
