Yes they did. And when I worked for the Cable industry and worked with Comcast and Verizon I tried to get them to partner with Starlink to provide service to rural areas and they ignored me completely. I was actually laughed at. This was in 2018. Now it looks like they will have to sell their ground infrastructure to Starlink in a few years. I'm not sure Starlink will even want it at that point. This reminds me of the old telephone networks. When I go for walks I see the abandoned boxes for telephone everywhere. No one even forced telecoms to remove the boxes. Cable will go away as well. Right now I still see a lot of Dishes for DirectTV but I expect in five years that will go away.

Not really. Think about it... With so many different 'brands' and then so many different 'models' in each brand, it's not hard for Tesla's Model Y to 'stand out' from the rest... Like with Trucks... Try lining up 10 different models, then cover their logo's... You can hardly even tell which one is which!! But Tesla's stand out... AND the FEATURES are NEW and exciting! Having your car leave it's parking space and come pick you up IS truly exciting!! Having your car navigate, control speed, lane changes and more for over 300 miles at a stretch (like on our trip 3 weeks ago of over 2000 miles) is REALLY great!! You arrive so much more relaxed!! Having your car 'go away' and find it's own parking place will be next!! (within a year?) But moreso, they are FUN TO DRIVE!! Not to mention saving ME about $350 a month on 'fuel'...

In September I have seen several new ID.4 and IONIQ5 lately. This could be because the model Y is less noticeable due to the common nature of them, but I believe it has more to do with the deep discounts on those models. I suspect that Tesla will be loosing ground against these other models while they discount to get a foothold in the market and sell off old stock. Granted almost all vehicles have deep discounts due to the lack luster new vehicle sales.

That EV Safety Training would have been valuable for the Semi that caught fire on i80 in California. From the news coverage it was clear the first responders had not a clue of what to do so they let it burn for hours shutting down a critical corridor. It got worse as local news ask a so called expert what was happening and that "expert" was absolutely clueless about the battery chemistry and mitigation steps needed. Misinformation can fill a void quickly. And this is where Tesla gets "D-". They need to step up all the after sale business needs from readily available spare parts (at fair prices) to emergency response mandatory training sessions to body shop training. They are big enough now with a large enough installed base to fully engage in these requisite needs. Tesla would be smart to build a transit bus. Lots of opportunity there are most metro bus systems are struggling to maintain profitability. The TOC of an EV bus would help dramatically and get those polluters off the road.

I stay with ICE.... I replace/do most things at home, the rest at a local mechanic and the car is finished the same day. Most.... I mean the last 6 years, I have only changed the oil + filters and the tires once. The car has 200k miles and it is 24 years with automatic transmission.

No more sitting around like some bad ass kid in time out for a short and shitty range, My insurance premiums dropped off ever since i sold my tesla model S after owning it for 2 months. I kept my jaguar XJl. A large full size luxury automobile which tesla dosent even make. Not 40 to 60 minutes of down times but 3 minutes of down times and for a range of 570 miles which is great with all the traveling i do. Paid off at 41K and more than a pleasure to drive. Don't get me wrong the model S is very nice but, it just needs to be improved. I'll take another look at the EV and Tesla in a few years to see what provisions have been added. Till then, im going to simply leave more than well enough alone.....

Only thing I don't like about EV's is teir fake "we're a green car!" bs. Which are barely any better for the environment, and are very ethically questionable. And well, with current battery tech, just don't last as long as a gas car. Oh yeah, not to mention the stupidly long time they take to charge, most people don't just have a casual 10 - 2 hours to wait and charge. (not to mention the horrible charging stations which are either half broken at like half capacity to charge, have lots of broken spots, or are just entirely down!) Only thing they win in is efficiency. I'm personally betting on Hydrogen cars. Also the only reason California is the more popular option to pick is because of GOVERNMENT REGULATION. Without government regulation EV's wouldn't be as popular. (Also no, government regulation in a free market is never good, the competition should genially be better rather than the government forcing everybody towards one option.) I love EV's don't get my wrong, but the technology is just inherently flawed right now. Also lol, .45 ACP, yikes, if thats the best round it can stop then well. You might wanna carry some armor plates on you as well.

Your assumptions are incorrect. Please research EV efficiency vs gas. Most people charge at home, no supercharger needed for vast majority of trips. Also battery tech has a degradation of 1.8% yearly for OLD models. Seriously buy a Model 3 used and get back with us. ❤

​@@mattmcfly2165 First off, I found the study you're talking about, they don't really give any details on how many miles are being put on, or anything like that, so I can't really verify, nor trust it. As anybody should for research firms that don't disclose that. So I'm just going to disregard that. General guideline is that Lithium Ion batteries usually got about 1500 cycles (to 80% of original capacity) until they degrade faster. Which is well, not much, I'd like to see at least 4000 - 5000 cycles before I see them becoming viable cars. As you're just losing 20% of your range. As with gas / (maybe) Hydrogen you'd lose close to zero within the same time frame and same mileage As for super chargers, it's no excuse to have a poorly maintained charging network, that'd be like saying it's fine if your phone only worked about 50% of the time. Or for the gas pump to only work sometimes. Like how are you supposed to go on long distance trips if you can't trust the charging network to work correctly. Anyways no, I will not be buying any EV's until these problems are resolved, EV's are cool though, just not ready yet. Especially telling when the government has to force something instead of letting the free market decide... Also cheers for just not acknowledging the environmental impact and ethical issues of EV's! Because why would we want to discuss that, it goes against the narrative!!!
