Soooo… since everyone wants to know what happens after (this recap covered 2 out of 10 episodes) the show is called Silo. It’s on Apple TV. Spoilers for S1 below; As it turns out (shockingly I know) judicial is the bad guy, but run by Bernard in IT because IT handles the restricted data. They also handle a secret network of tens of thousands of cameras, monitoring everyone’s whereabouts in secret. Mayor johns is assassinated, leaving him in charge. Jules eventually find the hard drive, and realizes the outside is clean. She works with other to broadcast the video on every screen. They see it, leaving the public confused. She also proves some mysterious murders were caused by judicial to keep the truth hidden… or were they? Jules gets sent out the silo as punishment, directed by judicial. Unsurprisingly, as she steps out, she sees the green world outside. Strangely though, she sees that same flock of birds as in the video. Leaving her surprised, she realizes the helmet itself is an AR headset. The world on the screens is real, but the cleaners see a lie intended to distract them. Distract them because to no suprise to anyone, the suits are rigged. They use faulty tape to seal the suits, so the very real toxic air leaks in. From the help of walker, who discovers this, she makes tape that actually works, allowing Jules to survive. The season ends with Jules realizing the world really is barren, as her headset’s display shuts down. In the final scene, we discover there are other silos. A lot of other silos, all built next to one another for miles. The tunnel George discovered connects them.

The books are excellent. The only hint I'll give is that Season 1 is only the FIRST HALF of book one. The series is called "The Silo Saga" by Hugh Howey 😊
