I was in the thick of this drama at the time as a viewer of all these people I really don’t think you pedalled how insane this was at that moment online. It was absolute carnage. It literally propelled the careers of at least a hundred different “tea” youtube channels for YEARS. Every day there was some fucking new spin or new details. All masterminded by Jeffree Star who turned out to be this absolutely psychopath, billionaire, barbie-esque villain. The makeup community and the people in it were massive, and now they all had to navigate who was friends with who in all of this and there was so much fucking spin off drama that it was actually so insane but so carcrash you couldn’t look away. Not to mention this wasn’t even the first drama series in that community around that time. The reason Tati got all hippydippy and religious is because after James clapped back at her, she went through the MILL. She got hella cancelled, as the one person who had been an OG in this community since the beginning and never put a foot wrong, to now be cancelled and be hated on so hard online when she knew Jeffree and Shane had done this to give them an edge in their palette release…. that she had driven James Charles to such a dark place on their behalf… losing him all his industry friends, brand deals, labelling him as a predator… (even if that did end up true later, not to anyones knowledge at this time). She ended up being quite unwell with it all, moved home, had to take a year off.. her and her husband were also trying to have a baby at the time after years of difficulty but due to the stress they had to take a step back, so she was a little fragile when she finally returned.

I remember this and I was a viewer of all 3 of them before and during the drama. Every other day one of them was uploading a video disproving the others previous tea or adding more and it was chaos. The drama channels were emerging and you couldn’t escape it. As for people like me who were true viewers for the make-up, we got really sick of it because it just went on and on. We watched as these artist we loved and looked up to ruined each others reputation. And when it was all said and done I think a lot of us unsubscribed to everyone who was even slightly involved because we now saw how they truly were and after seeing all the secrets revealed and not knowing who to believe it really made us not care to watch any of them anymore and just move on to smaller more wholesome artist. The Zara Larsson thing is kinda funny to me because... As much as he can say whatever about these DMs, the fact that he dmed at all makes it feel like he's shooting his shot and testing the waters to see if the dude is bi. It's different to DM him that hes hot than to just comment it on a pic. Idk and the Zara Larsson thing was partly a joke and a public one. So if the dude felt uncomfy about it he could ignore it and I think @-ing him would make him feel less cornered. But that's me.

Binging these deep dives is just a reminder that nothing really happens to KZbinrs who do awful shit, especially white, male youtubers. People are talking about how after all of this there were no repercussions but Black women had been calling out Jeffree Star for years at this point and a lot of those same people kept supporting him. His products aren’t even that good and there’s plenty of indie brands that make cool makeup without their CEO being a trash human being.

OK clearly canths is a little confused because there has not been one single case of James Charles, talking to an underage individual where it has been proven that he knew about their age. This is important, because at the time he was getting constantly hit up by underage people, pretending to be 18 so they could be the one to expose James Charles. But to this day, there is no example where it has been proven that he knew about their age, and continued to pursue them.

Ok ok but i will contest that everyones a little gay its more of a spectrum honestly. Have u as a dude or woman ever looked at another person of the same gender and thought or said aloud "wow their really [insert synonm for attractive]" thats a little gay If u havent ur either insecure and unable to objectively quantify that someone of the same gender has atteactive features if not to u but to the opposite gender. Or ur one of those weird "super straights" thats pretty cringe. Now that being said that does not mean anyone should try and convince someone that they are fully homosexual thats something people need to adventure into and experiment with at their own pace if they think theres a possibilty their sexuality isnt what society would expect

First, there's a difference between someone being able to acknowledge aesthetic attractiveness in someone and being attracted TO them. Like aromantic asexual people are also able to acknowledge when someone is objectively attractive or charming, that doesn't mean they are attracted to them. Being bisexual myself, my attraction to different genders has changed throughout my life. HOWEVER, saying that absolutely everyone (who isn't just insecure in their sexuality) is at least a little gay is problematic. Mostly because, by applying the idea that "nobody can be 100% straight because everyone's sexuality is on a spectrum", you are also invalidating people who identify as completely, 100% homosexual. This can be very dangerous. I have seen straight men pretending to be progressive use this exact rhetoric to say lesbians should give them a chance. Please be careful with comments like this.
