Your wheelchair looks great, bit of advice always carry freezer bags with you. Because if it rains the control panel needs covering.

I was advised not to put freezer bags on the controls in case it gets caught it can be a safety hazard but you can purchase rain covers an ponchos on line now which go over the chair and you also umbrellas that actually screw onto your back rest or handle bar also don’t forget to take out insurance in case you have an accident and your chair breaks or if somebody claims you injured them also helps with theft and damage I only found out about this when I informed wheelchair service when IHoliday Tenerife need approval if you wish to go abroad this is more a formality so they can give chairs and chairs an mot sorry for the over share but I didn’t know any of this with when I got mine and then was talking about my holiday and they asked if I had the forms for them

It definitely gets easier to use, I have a power add on for my chair (smart drive mx2+), and it took a few days to get used to, but when your doing it everyday it’s easy to adapt. So excited for you !! 💗

I have a powered wheelchair (been using it for around 4 years now) and it was a real big improvement for me! I was also pretty scared in the beginning and it was pretty hard to control but after just a few days it was already 10 times easier to use that then walk or using a normal wheelchair. You just need some practice and give up on people's toes if they don't get out the way 😅 i always tell people "your toes are your own responsibility" 🤣

So happy to see you in the power chair I work in a school where we have a lot of students in wheel chairs and I know what a difference power chairs make to them. Would love to know more about you care routines and what hoist sling you use and when you need the hoist as sometimes some people don’t always need them. Heads up new AFOs are incredibly uncomfortable so they may take time to get use to and have you thought about a moulded seat to help with your hip alignment Love your videos

I don't have crps but I have a pituitary tumor that most people don't know causes a wide variety of symptoms. I was paralyzed for half a year and had similar symptoms expected my pain was deep and instead of light touch hurting it was a deep pain in my muscles. The most relief came from deep deep tissues massage from 300+ pound physical therapist. I occasionally need a wheel chair under stress because I have been advised not to over stress my body. I had so many similar symptoms however to what you mentioned. The worst is when people are bothered and think you are lying. People are so ignorant. No one would be in a wheel chair for their hand. I had such bad brain fog. I have horrible sleep . Thank you for sharing. You are so brave , I'm even scared of writing comment. I was to just disappear, I want to be unnoticed and stay in the house now for fear of judgement despite my condition improving so much I'm scared of outside stress triggering a stress response from my still growing pituitary tumor. I go to support groups but most of the group feels similar.anything can set off stress hormones and excessive cortisone and other hormones resulting in a cascade of hypertension, stroke and then inability to move legs, arms, and possibly need to be intubated. You really have helped me and others and I'm so thankful Please know that you are so inspiring and I am so grateful for your ability to be open, I just couldn't be this brave.

Very nice. But my worry is that the more fancy a chair is, the more that can and will go wrong. They dont get fixed immediately so suggest you have a backup at the ready.

Believe me it takes time to get used to a power wheelchair. The first time they assess me for a power wheelchair was when I was younger the one I am now and I hit the door frame but mind you the stupid wheelchairs backrest will spilled it back to far so I couldn't see where I was going and I also had people telling me which way to go where to go how to do this how to do that that was the first time for me driving a power wheelchair when I never got that wheelchair then years later I got a assess again for a power wheelchair and the guy that brought it over to my house when he put me in the wheelchair he just left me alone and let me drive you never said nothing to me about where to go or what to do he just let me drive and luckily I got that wheelchair so all in all it takes awhile to get used to driving and a power wheelchair I still occasionally run into things but I like my power wheelchair now

Why does it ALWAYS have to be women discussing health stuff on youtube? From paralysis to cystic fibrosis to COPD it's ALWAYS only women posting videos about these things as if they're health conditions exclusive to females when they're not.
