Word Factori is a word based puzzle game that is made for an engineer brain, a numbers guy, as it forces you to think about what shapes make up each letter and build a factorio style automated factory system to create the letters.
For those wondering, the word in the thumbnail was "Pants" (probably)

But if you walk yourself back through the process then you'll see that each individual step was simple and easily explainable. It's just understanding all the individual parts (or in this case, each process of making the letters) and putting it all together to make the final product

@@QwertyDFTBA Yeah so it has less buildings because you only need one E factory. It might take slightly longer, but naturally, because engineers are more slow and deliberate than those whimsical architects.

​@@pqddachu I guess it depends on which efficiency. I was able to do Architect with 12 buildings (best score is 11), but overflowed 705 letters. Engineer I was able to place with 8 buildings, and overflowed 297 letters. I always use only one "I" origin building, then fork off into the other letters from there, always trying to score the fewest buildings possible.

The gameplay reminds me of programming and coding classes where we had to plan the design of the code using either pseudo-code or a weird flow chart. This is giving coding flow chart energy.

Should be able to reduce buildings slightly with the T and Y. You can make T with vertical flipped L + horizontal line (save you one machine for the horizontal flip there) and then if you bend a T it gives you a Y, so that swaps two merging machines (one for making the V [which I checked you weren't using anywhere else before making this comment] and then the one for adding the V to the I to make the Y,) for one bending machine. Could get you that sweet 13 machine record. (I'm sure someone commented basically this exact thing and already got it 8 months ago.) (Also I'm not commenting this in a like, "you fool, how could you not have known!" kind of way, because the various recipes are sooooo hard to find, and why keep looking for alternates once you found at least one for a given character.)

based on the rankings at the end of the level it isn't speed, but lack of wasted letters. you should have tried to compete for this ranking since if you do it right you can get this to 0 which means that there is real potential for setting yourself apart from the rest.

There are 3 different brackets you can fight for. Building limit, excess letters, and ticks per letter. Building limit will have extremely high excess letters and ticks, as an inverted triangle with one building per move is the best. Excess letters will have the most buildings as you'd need an entirely separate chain for each letter. Ticks per letter would have average of the other two as you basically combine them and shove the whole sequence up at the top.

​@@LycanFerret nearly everyone got 12 for their best with the third leaderboard/bracket. that means that you probably can't get much better and thus are only really likely to drop in ranking rather than do better. excess letters just means you need to get the ratio right for your letter pipeline and thus should have plenty of room to get better. there is even 2 scores people generally get instead of just the one for the other two indicating that less people aim for beating that one.
