The experience of Noah, except on a much more local and domestic scale, may have actually happened. That time of transition from hunter-gatherers to herders and farmers was also a time of rapid sea-level rise, glacial out-burst floods, unpredictable seasons and climate disruptions due to warming seas and atmosphere. Cities arose about the time that sea-levels and coast-lines stabilized, and when the earth stopped warming and was actually starting a cool-down that would eventually become another ice age. The people of the late stone age, if near navigable rivers and coastlines, were likely capable navigators on those waters. They populated the islands in the Aegean. It doesn't take all that much tech prowess to craft a canoe from the log of a great tree. Or fashion a raft. We have record of such cultures doing so. I can't think of any that haven't leaned to navigate rivers, lakes and sea-coasts. I can more easily imagine stone-age humans with log canoes, catamarans and substantial rafts than not. The tale could have been as simple as the people of a community, faced with a rising sea and rapidly eroding coast-line, or a flood such as none have experienced, making rafts, selecting pairs of domestic animals to save, having feasts or sacrificing to the gods the rest, and riding out a flood that covers the plain for as far as the eye can see. Some may survive. Some may not. Of all natural calamities, floods are the most sudden, dramatic, common and destructive. Of course there will be myths about floods.

I as a muslim also belive in the story of the prophet, but the story is a bit different cause Noahs son didnt want to go on the ship so he drowned. After a long voyage, Allah ordered the earth to absorb the water and the sky to stop the rain. The ship stopped at a hill called El-Judij.1955 At a height of 4,250 meters, the Frenchman Fernand Navara came across a wooden mass, one of which was a straight board and the other a bent one. It is a glacier where there are neither trees nor settlements. Analyzes have shown that the tree is about 5000 years old. This is believed to be one of the remains of Noah's Ark.

The Bible is rather sparse on what it should look like other than it is 300 cubits in length, 30 cubits in width and height, and two access holes be cut into the structure. coming from someone who's read and has a copy of enoch's writings, this take on the flood was entertaining. definitely non canonical but leagues more entertaining. i like the take on the watchers too because if we follow the original texts it is... quite boring and bland from a storyteller's perspective: angels gone bad, god delivers punishment, no hope of redemption, rinse and repeat. same damn story all over the bible. but i like the fact that this movie's creator actually waits until the last watcher has evacuated into heaven before opening the flood gates suggesting a different fate of the watchers from the source material and a far more merciful deity. digression - good ol' sam (shemjaza / samyaza) is not the worst of them all - in fact the chief of the watchers was peer-pressured into agreeing to taking mortal wives. it was azazel (and gaderel to a lesser extent) who taught mortals how to kill each other (and also cosmetics because "it facilitates lust"), while the rest taught actually useful information like geology (arakiel), astronomy (kokabiel), meteorology (cambriel / chazaquiel), among others. it was this, and because they made kids with mortals, reason that they were cast down from heaven, and in the case of azazel, a special treatment from raphael. i wonder what the character na'el's name translates to because names ending in -el usually translate to "-of god" IE an angelic name.

The flood created the black Sea in the Ionian basin. Calling it a myth without actual proof is rather concerning. Plus, calling God as a genocidal maniac while denying human evil as the cause of his actions is very biased.

We cannot judge God when we can't even judge ourselves, this world is filled with "genocidal maniacs" or for a lack of a better word "sinners" we all harbor the 7 deadly sins and we are if not worse than God, you think the holocaust, 911, and slavery and other atrocities against humanity and nature were an act of God? They are all acts of men, most if not all of them weren't even influenced by God, He did not ask of us to do such things all He asked was for us to spread out, multiply, and make love and instead we keep trying to do the opposite because of fear that our population will grow too big and that we judge others for not being worthy to exist on this world He made for us, we keep trying to divide ourselves through the concepts or race, sex, nationality, and other labels creating more conflict and more divisions inhibiting more sin, meanwhile Gods teachings tells us to unite under His name and we slowly corrupted those words with out own interpretations of unity, we can't judge God or whomever you worship when we can't even abide to the concept of unity

Before the flood there were dinosaurs and the ancient Egyptians had more advanced technology than we did. I definitely believe that. The Tower of Babel was also a metaphor/allusion for super advanced technology to the point man thought he was on the same level as God, in my opinion

This leads to the theory that perhaps, the egyptians never built or knew how to build it. It must have existed way before their civilization and those advanced race had all disappeared overnight that prevented passing of knowledge to those who survived. Possible reason? Also, Judaism, like every religion that exists today, has changed and evolved dramatically over time. The book of Enoch and Job both demonstrate that there can be a deeper meaning to the text than a simple surface level perusal. All I'm saying is that Judaism at its core is far less dichotic and more so dialectic as opposed to Christianity. Which makes sense seeing how much older it is.

Nope, sorry. For starters, the Genesis Flood story contains many literary clues that its writers (and original audience) were not intended to narrate an actual series of events. The story employs the literary device known as “hyperbole” throughout, describing a massive ark which holds representatives of “every living creature on Earth”, and a flood which flows over the tops of the highest mountains in the world. These are not meant to challenge readers to figure out the practicality of such descriptions, but rather they are important clues that we are dealing with a theological story rather than ancient journalism. AND the scientific and historical evidence is crystal clear: there has never been a global flood that covered the entire earth, nor do all modern animals and humans descend from the passengers of a single vessel.

This world brings many agendas that are not in line with God's will. Thus, it brings many sins. Man may say, "your Jesus is harsh, putting people to hell for not submitting to Him." But man does not realize how sin is bad in the eyes of God, he hates sin that it must be punished in hell. Sin destroys people, sin is not in the creation of God. So sin is an action, made by us. So a sinner will be punished in hell. But the love of Jesus, is that He sacrificed his life on a cross as the only holy sacrifice for sins, able to sanctify, unto His 2nd coming, to those who asks for forgiveness and accepts Him as Lord and Savior unto the end..

The Qur'an (Suras 11 and 71) has almost a duplicate story with a similar huge boat that transported animals and a worldwide flood. In addition two older stories exist in ancient Babylonian epics that describe a huge flood. One is the Epic of Gilgamesh, describing a flood on the Euphrates River (Academy of Ancient Texts nd). The other is the Epic of Atrahasis, which has a huge flood on the Tigris River (Byers nd). In the Epic of Gilgamesh, [Utnapishtim] is warned that a god plans to destroy all humanity and is told to build a ship to save himself, his family, friends, and cattle. In the Epic of Atrahasis, a tribal chief survived with his family by floating in a boat down to the Persian Gulf. After the flood subsided, the chief got out on dry land and erected an altar and sacrificed to a water god so that such a flood would not happen again (Anonymous nd-a). Noah also built an altar when he got off the Ark and offered sacrifices (Genesis 8:20). Because these stories all describe an ancient huge flood in Mesopotamia, it is extremely likely that a huge flood could have occurred.” - Reports of the National Center for Science Education | Volume 29 | No. 5 | September-October 2009 ”Yes, Noah's Flood May Have Happened, But Not Over the Whole Earth”

It is mentioned separately in multiple different ancient texts and always follows the same path, that a god wants to destroy / cleanse the world, that someone builds a boat and eventually erects a shrine on a hill to thank and honor that god because they survived. Basically, there is a pretty high chance that there was a huge flood in this part of the world at the time that most likely killed thousands or even tens of thousands, destroying entire cities and which basically ”flooded the whole world” for these people, with only some surviving by climbing mountains or reaching ships.
