Svalbard Airport could be a possible location, depending on when in the year it takes place. That airport is in 2 months of nighttime... and even during the day the sun stays low in the sky, which significantly weakens the gamma radiation (not to mention the amount of ozone is also greater, though potentionally not enough to shield to a survivable level). Gamma radiation isn't affected by the magnetic field like charged particle radiation either.

Fun fact, but if there is a solar flare from the sun which is overdue, the whole side of the earth that it hits would loose electronic abilities unless said electronics were grounded or under a metal grounded structure. Some gamma and cosmic rays (particularly muons) would punch through bunkers easily and would destroy food and kills all plants as well as animals. Very deep bunkers (miles down) would be protective even against muons. Gamma would disperse 100s of meters down , and perhaps deep under water. The main hole here is that deep places in cities like some subway stations should be just as protective as water.

Geez some of the science in this movie is crazy. Keeping it simple, it is accurate that exposure to Gamma rays can most definitely kill you. It's the most dangerous form of light. Although a few inches of something dense like Lead or even a couple feet of Concrete should be enough to stop gamma rays from penetrating. So anyone in a bunker in this movie should be safe, and even normal buildings to an extent depending on It's size and where they are.

The living things creating CO2 are them, and of course the naturally occurring greenhouse gasses from things like volcanoes and erosion, take a look at the carbon cycle. Maybe he was to be seen as the bad guy of the series. I get the feeling after he assaulted the other guy he was seen as a betrayal and she thought he would kill them all eventually. I would have to see the whole scene myself really get why she did it.

@@whitedragoness23 He was generally antagonistic and an asshole to the other passengers a lot for weird shit. Didn't really come off to a great start and seemed kinda insincere. Then tried to kill the other dude (who was a pretty valuable asset), and then lied about it, it was game over then.

Science is science. I love how geography works in this movie. A non-scheduled flight from Brasil to Iceland with enough fuel to additionally go to Scotland, piloted by a wounded guy and a retired heli specialist. And just in time to still have some night left. Getting even halfway this plotline was just gut twisting. Even the non-sci fi elements here are kinda amusing, haha
