I had these when I was 5 years old in the hospital. The plastic scraper didn't always work,so the nurses gave me a wood tongue depressor

4:09 Many kids may have wanted this one after the 1976 movie, "Midway" came out, starring Charlton Heston, Henry Fonda, James Coburn & Robert Wagner (also including lesser known actors at the time, Pat Morita, Dabney Coleman, Erik Estrada & Tom Selleck)

5:30 This version is definitely influenced by 1979 movie, "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" or the connected TV series that ran from 1979 to 1981 (starring Gil Gerard & Erin Gray), because those are clearly Thunderfighters used by the Earth Defense Directorate created for that version of Buck Rogers.

5:42 Actually, before Star Wars came out, a lot of kids really liked cowboys in general, and The Lone Ranger in particular, watching reruns of the old TV series starring Clayton Moore.

Photon was the laser light game competitor to Lazer Tag. It had laser reactive action figures and a live action show. I had the helmet set, with phasers and chest plates.
@XianHu6 ай бұрын
That's what I was thinking it was from, too. "Photon: The Ultimate Game on Planet Earth" was actually first, much like how Hydrox sandwich cookies were first, but everyone only knows Oreo's now.

Never had these as a kid, but looks neat. Kind of reminds me of how I’d take coins, put a piece of paper over them and rub over the paper with a pencil and it’d create a shaded drawing of the coin.

I remember them. You scratch/rub them onto something, and you're done. That's it. It was a cheap diversion that was not really a toy.

7:54 FYI, Presto Magix were originally made by the Papermate Division of Gillette from 1975 to 1978. The sets were later published by the American Publishing Corporation. As of 2024, the Presto Magix trademark with intent to use has been filed by New Frontier Marketing Associates, LLC in Millburn, New Jersey.

I still have a ton of these in a drawer! When I was a kid, I was always bugging my parents to let me get one when we went to the grocery store. They're all used, but it's fun to look back on them and the hours of fun I had putting characters in weird places on the board.

The incredible edible egg. Talk about going back in the memory. You had to be careful with these because some of the transfers were close to one another and you could accidentally put one where you didn’t want it

The one thing I remember about Thundarr the Barbarian was the hottie Princess Ariel. Her outfit was a cyan leotard. They have made her in action figure form, and it looks pretty good.

I forgot I had these, until seeing this video. Star Wars, maybe it was jabbas palace. I can't remember for sure. The Star Wars, Ghostbusters, GI Joe and Photon all seem cool (and I wouldn't mind rubbing Daisy Duke😂😂😂). Photon was similar to Lazer Tag, but in addition to the weapons they had figures. One of my friends had them and they were awesome. They were about the first 12 inch scale figures and had interactive weapons.

I"m glad you did a video on these. Got into an argument once over these. The person kept saying those are colorforms. I had the Empire Strikes Back Asteroid field one. I think some jedi ones too. The Vic Morrow joke was classic. Just as good as the BobCrane getting hit with a tripod joke you made awhile back. You are a sick man. Thats awesome.

I like most of these. The AT-AT foot is probably positioned so you can put a snow speeder under. I don't know. I don't know what it comes with, but that would be my guess. :) I want all the SW, but I'd definitely want the the big ESB poster size one. Yes on Fraggle Rock and Ghostbusters. Thanks for the video
