This is absolutely stunning. I read the sheet music and the lyrics drew me in, spoke to me. I had to look up an arrangement of it, and it did not disappoint. The swells in the chants create a powerful thrum as old as time, and with that power it reminds women to not hold back, that no matter what others tell you, go as far as you can. And it could not be written any better. I will delve into a second part I almost didn't say, but I found this music through the Texas All State packet this year, and like all the pieces, it is interesting to speculate what the clinicians want the singers to learn from it. This piece's message is so beautiful, I think as we learn it it will hopefully be ingrained into our memory as a reminder that no matter what others tell us, ignore them, and go as far as you can. I absolutely can't wait to learn this piece and sing with my fellow musicians, and the magic we will create. Thank you for making this piece ❤
