My choir is singing this! Whenever our director lets the gents go, you can hear the girls cheering because we know it means we get to work on this piece. There's just something so compelling about it that it never gets old, no matter how many times you hear it. The open chords especially make my ears happy.

lol my small ensemble (8 SA 8 TB) has competition coming up and we're splitting into an SA and a TB group for two different songs. i'm a bass and the song us guys are doing is incredible but i can't help but be jealous of the sopranos and altos for this song. it's so incredible, i can't stop coming back to listen to it, and i'm so excited to hear my friends in choir perform it. they're so amazing

This is my favorite song ever composed. As a sophmore I had made several deep connections that were my friends who were seniors and the seniors sang this as their parting song. I’ve never felt such a deep connection to a song. Everyone in the choir after they graduated remembers this piece it’s simply gorgeous.

I get teary-eyed everytime I hear this song, we sung this at honor choir the women's choir did, and i sung the second sopprano part in this song, let's just say it was all the women's favorite song, it was mine to i tried so hard to not to cry while singing this infront of alot of people, I miss singing like this with a whole bunch of people, it was just an absolutely amazing experience that I would never forget!! ❤🎙🎵

My director put together a lineup of three songs, depicting the story of Moses and the deliverance of his people - this was the second song. This song was so incredibly gorgeous that it made me question my entire belief system. It is, quite literally, a religious experience. Amazingly beautiful. Fantastically written and very enjoyable to perform.

The University of Alabama Women's Chorus was going to sing this at our spring concert, but due to current events that had to be canceled. While we're sad that we can't perform this lovely piece, we still discuss the beauty of it and how we can "dive into unknown waters" amidst all of this chaos. Thank you for such a lovely composition! I hope we all get the chance to sing it again one day.

My arms reach for the sky and I want to sing the song rising inside me. My mouth open I stop. Where are the words? Where the melody? In a moment of panic My eyes go blind. Can I take a step Without knowing a Destination? Will I falter Will I fall Will the ground sink away from under me? The song still unformed- How can I sing? To take the first step- To sing a new song- Is to close one’s eyes and dive into unknown waters, For a moment knowing nothing risking all- But then to discover The waters are friendly The ground is firm. And the song- the song rises again. Out of my mouth come words lifting the wind. And I hear for the first the song that has been in my heart silent unknown even to me.
