Kinda wish you had checked if there was resin in the second strawberry banana smoothie, just to see if it's a general problem with that project or not Also, would love if you made some projects with all the doubles you've gotten through these mystery box unboxing - a bit like how you played around with the Halloween versions, but where you can mix and match between all the different series😊💙

As an Amazonian worker from a warehouse, I can at least tell you it was NOT Amazon that poked a hole in the case of the product. Amazon is cheap, all we use is stickers that wrap around and can't be easily scanned. xD Also it stinks that MiniVerse is messing these up so badly! I skipped the Christmas collection entirely because none of them really seemed Christmassy and fun to do in equal parts, and I had the same experience with the Halloween caramel apples you did. They're SO CLOSE to consistently knocking it out of the park, and they keep messing it up!

I’ve found MiM capsules in the store that have those tags on them, so it’s likely coming from the factory like that. The capsule packaging already has a barcode so who knows why they ALSO need to add tags-as if these toys don’t ALREADY generate enough trash! 😂

@VanishingRainbow there's a chance. I know Jackie has said that she saves the doubles and extras for future customizations. So I guess in the future we'll see when she does that. Definitely stinks it's happened more than once for her. She's right in saying it shouldn't happen for what they charge for them. I don't buy as many as she does, since I understand she uses them for videos. But I think it shows a more accurate likelihood you will end up having issues or a double if you are a more regular type purchaser of them, only buying one or two at a time.

I think the ice was supposed to make up a significant chunk of the volume of the smoothie, which would have then needed less resin maybe? 🤷‍♀️ And I think the pickles sticker was meant to go on the lid so you wouldn't need to block any pickly goodness. :3

My daughter and I just did a smoothie and the ice definitely takes up a good portion of the cup. Ours had sliced strawberries and we jammed a bunch down the sides of the cup too.

I can only think that with the smoothie, you're meant to mix the resin with as much of the ice as possible, so the fruit bits don't sink, as I can't find any other reason to why there was so much ice and next to no resin?

I had the same problem with the Lifestyle Eucalyptus Candles. The resin was incredibly thick and I used every method I could think of to heat it up (hot water, hair dryer, heat gun) to get all the resin out. Once I got all the resin out I only had enough for half a candle. I contacted the company about it, and I found out that basically because I hadn’t bought my Miniverse sets from the MGA/LOL site, they couldn’t/wouldn’t do anything about any missing or defective pieces. I got the same answer when I got a Cafe series 2 ball that was a Cherry Slushie, but instead of Cherry resin, it had the resin for the Grape Soda. (I just used it to make a grape slushie).

I couldn't even make the candles because the resin refused to cone out of the bottles, and when I made the cat and other planter set, I had to use my own resin to make sure the dirt and plants wouldn't move. I definitely haven't been very impressed with the miniverse items I've gotten so far, and they're not cheap in terms of price. It's a shame to see the quality has started to tank.

I had the same exact problem with the eucalyptus candles! There was barely enough resin for one candle, and I had to squeeze the bottle SO hard in order to even get anything out. Really disappointing

I can say I haven't had resin issues exactly, but I do usually have to put the bottles upside down for a solid 5+ minutes and there's typically just barely enough to do the project. Cafe often feels worse in this regard.

If the resin doesnt come out quickly enough, try poking a hole in the bottom of the bottle and let it drip down into your project. The "air hole" or "Air Bubble" can be keeping it from coming out of the bottle. LOVE your videos

Also, with the smores, I didn't put the resin between the layers. I did the layers one at a time, and i carefully using a nozzle from a previous kit, put the resin in tiny 'spills' on the outside edge of the pieces. Starting at the top and slowing building downward, like the chocolate bar was melting. It worked great and it held all the pieces together perfectly. I did a smudge near the top of the chocolate bar, to hold the lid Graham on, and then melted the chocolate down the outside. I even gave one piece a little chocolate puddle near one side. Turned out really cute. Then with one of my finished smores I used a mini cookie cutter I made in the shape of a bite for other projects, and cut a bite out of a finished smore, and completely chocolate'd the interior of the bite, and used some white resin from another project to streak the chocolate, so it looks like the bite is a smear of melted chocolate & marshmallow all streaked together where you bit into it! I set the bit aside so if i use it with one of my open-mouthed dolls, I can actually put the bite of smore in his mouth. The bite piece has an arch of chocolate and marshmallow coming off of it. So when I photo him, I can place the rest of the piece in his hand, and line the arch of gooiness up with it so it looks like he took a bite and pulled the smore away leaving a string of marshmallow and chocolate.

I feel that when brands launch their first series, it's always good because they need a good concept to even get to production. But in viral days, they become famous overnight, demand skyrockets, quality suffers in the process of trying to satisfy this demand. Series are launched one after the other, special editons and whatnot, and the people that worked for years probably on the first series suddently need to bring an even bigger series in just a fews months. It's a shame to see that happen over and over again with most things that are exciting and end up going viral, the love gets lost in the quantity over quality mindset.

Just hold the smores sideways under the uv light and it'll cure. Even gel cures under rhinestones somehow, because nail lamps have light coming from the sides too.

I've had some difficulty getting resin out of some bottles. Some of it comes out very slowly in blobs, then nothing for a couple of minutes, then more comes out just when i think the bottle is empty. Some resin comes gushing out all at once. Before i open the resin, I turn it upside down and roll the bottle between my palms for several minutes. That gets it flowing better. Happy Birthday!!!

Jackie, Zuru is coming out with their own mini resin craft kits! It will be a partnership with Master Chef. You'll get to make mini versions of recipes from Master chef. They even give you a UV light shaped like a chef's hat.

I was taking a closer look at the instructions there, and I think that was the "right" amount of resin, considering the proportion they were showing with the ice and how you are supposed to mix it all up with the straw. I do agree that it's too thick though... I imagine little kids with their tiny hands trying (and failing) to squeeze it.

The empty strawberry was the same problem I had with a candle set from the Lifestyle minis I got. I also got the turtle tank and have half a bottle of resin left. lol I laugh about it, but it really does show how bad they're getting with the fill levels.

I had the same issue that you had with the smores kit, but with the burger kit. The instructions say to pour resin in between each layer but they weren't sticking. I ended up having to glob a lot of resin and cure it multiple times under a UV lamp before it would stay together. Obviously, just going by their instructions alone doesn't work well, which is a problem. I haven't had an issue with the amount of resin I get but I have had unusually thick resin, which is difficult to work with. I completely agree about the nozzle thing! Every time I need one, they don't give me one. I ended up taking a nozzle from a project that I didn't need it!

Try using less resin and let it cure under the UV lamp for a longer period of time. Also multiple cures work. By using too much resin, the UV light can't easily penetrate through as easily and this is the cause that most people have when curing stacked projects. Also on stacked pieces, move the project and use the UV light multiple angles, I recommend top, bottom, sides. And on odd shapes top, bottom and turn the object about 90 degrees each time. I've gone through phases of liking dill pickles then not liking them to liking them again. I love garlic dill pickles! I can eat them by themselves as a snack! So, I love the pickles in this set. I think after opening and getting the resin make sure to leave them upside down to help the resin come out.

Yeah I've gotten 2 cafe series 2. The first one had more than enough resin(hot dog with ketchup), second one(cherry vanilla float) only had enough to fill up the cup half way. Luckily the "ketchup" from my first one is close enough to be used as the drink.

You can also use a silicone mat (or dish) and put the resin directly on it, "freeze" it, and use those resin strips too! I do this a lot with my projects so I can get the exact shape I want

I LOVE the pickles. I also really love the idea of them switching to a colored glue for the darker projects. I can't help but wonder if the are created by 2 separate companies, because the ingredients are SO detailed it doesn't make sense that the same company would be so lackadaisical with the rest of the product.

Regarding the smores: I would try putting it together in my fingers and holding it together sideways, put stripes of chocolate resin along where the layers meet, and then quickly hold it under the light. And then try do that on all 4 sides. Or just hold it together and put messy chocolate all over the sides.

There is a lady on youtube who takes these mini food projects, does not use the resin at all and instead she uses some modpodge acrylic paint and sometimes air dry clay to make her minis the way SHE wants them to be. The resin doesn't get wasted, she uses it for doll jewelry 😂 But she has pointed out a lot of th flaws with the sets and makes them work for her. It stinks that resin is a huge part of these kits but since she doesn't like using the resin anyway, it doesn't bother her when its missing or dried up 😂😂😂

I opened most of the cafe series 3 recently. I had to put a ton of the shaved ice rocks in it to fill the comtainer because there wasn’t much resin in the bottle. I couldn’t make the mocha drink because that one only used resin and ice cubes and the resin bottle was almost empty. They give you a giant bucket of white resin for the potatoes and bagels funny enough.

I LOVE pickles! When I was a lil' grain , my daddy would take me to the corner store and tell me to pick something for a treat~~ I often picked the gigantic pickles that were in a big jar on the counter. People would say, when they saw me eating it " you're gonna make your self sick! " and i would smile and keep eating~~SO good! Nowadays I prefer baby dill and sweet pickles { small cucumbers are really nice } and bread and butter pickles....plus I put a lot of relish in my tuna sandwiches.

If you are having a hard time getting the resin out, try cutting the bottle open. I had a hard time and didn’t think they gave me enough, but then I heard someone else cut their bottle open and there was a TON of resin still in the bottle, it was just so thick it wouldn’t come out!

Hm, that's odd, never had any problems with the resin in those projects. Not even the hot chocolate. Did manage to fill both cups/glasses with one jar of the chocolate resin. I bought two of those just in case but turns out I didn't need to open the second one. Admittedly, it took a while to get the resin out of the jar but in the end it was enough to layer the chocolate real nicely.

Same thing happened to me! I got the candle set in the lifestyle series and I got no resin! It wasn’t fun :(

I’m glad other people are noticing the drastically reduced amount of quality the newer miniverse projects have. Especially compared to the series one and two. I used to love doing them to relax on my days off and I recently picked up a few of the newer set to do and I was so frustrated and disappointed in them! Now I can’t see myself spending that much money and time on a project I may not be able to complete or even cure which are also both problems I’ve experienced lately. Hopefully the company sees and takes the suggestions and observations to heart.

I'm excited to see the pickles. However I'm disappointed that the company is shorting out on resin. It's the whole point of the thing. I just got my niece into the kitchen ( we have black out winters in Minnesota too) and more of series 2 balls. She really loves these I want her to keep loving them because I have some one to need out with. however that won't happen if they are going the way they are.

Dill pickles are my jam! I went through almost every brand at our grocery store one year to find my favorites. Only dill tho. I think you could have totally put that label on the lid to save the look!!
