you didn't pay attention to the elements presented - there are (at least) three non-comedic elements (which I suspect are all just part of the BBG's manipulations) - which based on frequent plot devices will ruin the wholesome comedic part later - there already is a betrayal, but it wasn't the MC getting betrayed. - sad beginning? already 2 sad parts mentioned that occurred before the start of the story

It’s honestly insane that the trope of the Hero’s party being the real villains is so common now that it’s considered a subversion of expectations that these heroes are actually good guys. Either way, I love this and I want more. I like “revenge against the hero” plots as much as the next person, but more of these wholesome “found family hero party” stories, please!

It became cool and edgy to make the hero party evil and it was fun the first time. But monkey see monkey does. Instead of the heroes party being douches and evil I'd very much just rather have the "heroes" party be a collection of chaotic destructive jackasses like The Slayers. Lina Inverse blowing a gasket and casting Dragon Slave and wiping a town because someone called her flat chested was the most hilarious gag ever. I guess they weren't heroes, she was in truth a villainess, and to me that was even better than this "Hero Party are awful people" Trope.

There was mention of the Demon Lord still being alive. So they each probably split up carrying what little they needed and allowed their little companion keep it. Most likely it was cooking equipment and such for the most part. But yea; they probably did that and since Liddie has little to no experiance in information gathering and doesn’t know how to properly fight. They may have decided it was perhaps best not to include him. Each member has responsibilities they must tend to so why drag him into all of that? The comical side of it is the irony that they will all wind up meeting together again and Liddie will be be op with flat out smacking the Demon Lord senseless like he did at the end there against that ‘dragon’. x’D
