These are great stories, the Story teller is fantastic. I realize that these are an extension or part of the Miss Rimiki series, though I think referring to them as the Frairen series would be just as good. I like the stories being told from another perspective and especially as the soldiers are learning war.

300mph in 5 seconds is approximately 31G of acceleration. For context, that's rather insane even for human biology. Shock absorbers take peak Gs and turn them into sustained Gs, but you're already looking at 5,000ms of sustained Gs. You dont want to make that even longer. Human biology begins to fail at 6Gs. Even fighter pilots whom pull upwards of 13Gs are pulling peak-Gs, not sustained-Gs. The F-16 and sinilar aircraft will not even permit sustained turns exceeding 7Gs limiting the pitch rate to maintain 7.00G after a brief period of peak-Gs. The strongest ejection seats are no more than 25G, and they fire for hundreds, not thousands, of milliseconds. Even so, 8% of ejections result in fatality as a direct result of the G-force. This is despite the average force of most reasonable seat designs being closer to 12G for three times the duration, presuming a pilot weight of 80kg. Long story short, they're subjecting frail aliens to accelerations 50 times the duration, and twice the intensity, of an aircraft ejection system. Even John Stapp only pulled 25G for 1.1s. After that test he was temporarily blind, his eyes were severely bloodshot, and he described the sensation in his eyes as 'like having a molar extracted without anaesthetic'. Those Yorpil are going to be jam, or at best blind, in agony, and completely disoriented. Even the humans would experience all the most extreme forces of sustained acceleration, for a time period nearly 5 times that of John Stapp - the fastest man on Earth, who still holds the land-speed record of 1,017km/h, perched on his seat, mounted to the front of a rocket powered, rail-sled.

"He's speaking to Tyr, one of the human Gods of War." Ok, now I'm more interested in this Miss Rimiki universe, because what is the story with Humanity's religious geography? Reckon Christianity and Islam are still kicking, but why is Tyr being worshiped again? Guess humanity was exploring the spirit realm. Reckon they still believe in God, but also discovered what the ancient tradition called the seven planetary Gods, seven great spirits second only to God himself, yet so powerful that humanity started worshiping them as minor gods. Tyr was the old Norse name for one of them, Mars. The symbol that human was holding in the pod was described as a “weird looking anchor.” Sounds like a description of the male gender symbol, Mar’s alchemical symbol. Hope Miss Rimiki teaches a class on human religion.
@TheNorthHawkАй бұрын
These stories are paced well and all, but I can't help but feel that the weaknesses of enemy forces are pretty contrived. How would a race that waged total war as a matter of course not be prepared for anti-air fire? How could a race that could fold space into wormholes and had naturally miniaturized fusion generators and harnessed dark matter not use directed energy weapons just as casually? Also, why are squad tactics apparently something only humans concieved of? Don't get me wrong, the battles are paced and written well. The other races are just... Not very believable.
