They're back! The Newsome Twosome return to the Loch Arkaig Osprey nest 5 Jul 2021

This clip shows Blue 152 landing on the nest at 13.53, departing and returning at 14.22, and then returning a third time at 14.44 shouting loudly. Then The Stranger / Young Pretender answers her calls by arriving with a fish for her! She seizes it eagerly and both stay together on the nest for a while before she departs leaving The Stranger there on his own. He stays until 14.51 before flying off leaving the nest empty again. Very exciting!
UPDATE - Blue 152 info: Blue 152 is one of a brood of two females and a male ringed on 5 July 2018 in Glen Affric, which is about 25-30 miles (as the osprey flies) due north of Loch Arkaig. Glen Affric is one of the most beautiful places in Scotland and home to some very spectacular ancient Caledonian pinewood. This is the first sighting of her or any of that brood since ringing so the ringer was very pleased to hear about her. The Stranger is unringed so we don't know anything about him.

She paid four brief visits yesterday, or the same visit with four hop-on, hop-off if you like. He paid only one but it was an important one as he brought her fish and gave it to her immediately. They would be a welcome sight if Louis sticks with his new nest.

Blue 152 & Handsome Stranger 🤗 It's so nice to see them here again!💞 She has a very snowy pale front & face, delicate features. ~ Looks like they have been bonding 💜 the way she took that fish, no messing about with introductory coy mantling from Stranger either. They good friends & hopefully new companions now. I wonder where they've been & what they were saying to eachother! I like to imagine it.. > She said "Aye, I telt ye , wi shouda bid richt here! It's still empty & fit fine fish! " 😀 ( my attempt at Doric). Noticed something broken after they left ~ the olde perch she & many others have enjoyed feaking has broken now. At 03:26 when she stumbles back, I think that's when the olde perch/feaking wood broke..🎵 Sounds like a song! I had to rewind watch all the action again anyway! 🙂 I will again. ☆ Thanks Geemeff , this is a lovely surprise. The weather has been wet/ foggy all through weekend & this has brightened my day! Hope we see them again.💜🐱♏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💫

lovely to see some visitors at the Arkaig nest!! That "fixed" branch still causing annoyance!!! Louis tried to move it - everyone who has come along has tried to move it!! Sooner it gets covered in moss the better!!! Wonder if they will hang around????? K
