Show your grandma "Judge Rex D. Stacey". Then, you'll hear him cry about being taken away to the funny farm in the courtroom. Access "Judge Rex D. Stacey". He's a lunatic for a judge in Scott County in Minnesota.

I'm 73 and live in a senior community with neighbors with many mental health issues. This just sounds like our theme song. I remember this song from the 1960's!

The chorus fits how I feel with some "aging-in-place" remodeling going on in my 90-yr-old (small) house. Exterior dimensions give me 722 sq ft.

Hugs. My dad is so close to your age. It kills me yo think of him in that situation so I really pray you’ve got family or people who love you visiting. If not I’m happy to try to help any way I can. In choir as a child we would go sing to those in senior communities and it broke my heart how lonely so many can be. I will paint you all pictures, share jokes etc!

I remember this song as well. I remember my parents - they grew up in the Big Band era with crooners cooing into the microphone - were scandalized. My old man did calm down a bit when I explained that the song was actually a joke song written by Jerry Samuels after his dog ran away - don't take the song seriously. Then the old man wanted to know if Samuels ever found his dog - a priority for my dad as he loved dogs.

After listening to this for the tenth time I started to actually image this being in a dog's perspective. It really doesn't make sense why he randomly said "you mangy mutt" out of the blue, so I'd assume his dig ran away. Along with "I cooked your food and cleaned your house".

In 1966, this was an extremely unusual song, even for those times. My local radio station got so many parental complaints, they stopped playing it for a while. The parent's very young children could not sleep after hearing it. To them, this song was very scary. Meanwhile, all us young teenagers were phoning the station many times daily, requesting that this song, and many others, be played. That was what you could do in those days. It must have been hell to be a radio station playlist manager in those days .......

I remember singing this with my older sister when I was a child (sis is 10 years older than me). The classic foreshadowing is almost too much. And as she is approaching her 70's and still trying to hurt others, this song just popped into my head. Written for her, by her, about her. Wow.

My cousin had a Dr. Demento CD with various songs from the show. This was one of the songs that was on it and I remember listening to it in the car whenever I’d pay a visit. Of course, being a kid in the mid-late 2000’s and early 2010’s, I had no idea what this song was about. As I grew up, I instantly realized it was a song about a guy being hauled off to a mental facility!

This song use to scare the crap outta me back in the mid 70s when i was a young kid. When his voice would change, and go up in pitch. And the parts where he would echo as he finished a verse. It just painted a scary picture in my head of this guy who kept saying, "They're going to take me away.." Still remember playing this on some record I had back then. It was unnerving. Even now listening to it, the kid inside still gets chills from it. Brings back sharp, crystal clear memories. But its a very memorable song. It got stuck in my head forever, ha ha ho ho hee hee.

I'm here to spread narcissism awareness, because beneath these types of comments there's usually lots of arguments.(there's nothing wrong with your comment) I'll come here to make one thing clear to those snowflakes who think using the word "narcissist" to not clinically diagnosed narcissists(unless those people show clear signs of narcissism) isn't ableist: Narcissism is a disorder and it should be recognized as one, some people pass it off as a personality trait but it's a DISORDER calling someone narcissist because they're sassy or something is ABLEIST.
