You’re right that having unlimited emeralds is what made the difference. When you’re starting from scratch you’re usually trying to get the paper trade with whatever book you’re looking for, and the price matters more. Thanks for the video!

personally I usually just end up going for a fletcher who buys sticks and farming trees for a while until I have enough emeralds to be self sustaining

I use fletchers for my first emeralds, then set up toolsmith, armorer, and weaponsmith, and unlock their iron trades. Then i use iron from an iron farm to produce my ‘mid game’ emeralds.

Three slime blocks, a sticky piston, and a lever and you can reroll 9 villagers at a time with a click of the mouse. I think half of the complaints people have with villagers would disappear if Java got movable tile entities.

You did get pretty lucky with the villagers. Aside from the linking issues that can keep them from restocking, it's not really difficult. It's just mind-numbing because it requires a lot of attention for a very long time. Some people can handle that better than others.

Something small but hilarious about the Kitty Café wrt permit legislation is that since the drinks are custom models they can't actually be drunk. And even if some hall monitor were to state that "oh but pumpkins are a food, that would be under xB's jurisdiction!!"... Well yes, but actually no. You don't really EAT pumpkins in Minecraft, they're just used in crafting recipes. Love me a good loophole yayyy :D Great episode!

Hay bale shop in short is... suffering from success. Everybody loves them mud blocks. And yeah, villager trading isn't very hard, it's mostly tedious/frustrating. With an infrastructure to breed them and move them and store them, and a wallet full of emeralds (no need for zombification if it's raining emeralds!), all that's left is the patience to listen to hmmmmmming for extended periods of time :D That's also partially why the raid farms are so game-breaking!

I guess you know it already, but you can find in really easy way if diamonds are fake. F3 + H will show item descriptions (minecraft:diamond, exact durability of the tool, etc.) to check what it diamond and what is a stick You could also craft with them. Diamond block and back to change names back to normal without using anvil and levels

That's why you need kelp to make a bubble column in the normal way - one water source at the top fills the column, but only the top block is a water source, and soul sand doesn't work on non-source water blocks. @@DannyDevitoOffical-TrustMeBro Yea...Moving them is generally the only difficult part. if you house them in individual slots that don't allow significant movement you'll generally be ok, but if you try to move them out (To get Zombied/Healed or something) they get very frustrating to get re-attached to work-stations if there are any other villagers around. (Especially jobless ones awaiting their turn).

So now my fisherman is tied to a job site that he's incapable of realizing *no longer exists* (FWIW, this is a bug that's fixed in the latest snapshots). Poor villager--he hasn't been looking too well lately. I'm worried one of these days he might trip and fall a few dozen blocks, and I'll just have to find a new fisherman...

The emeralds helped a lot..but usualy I have all the emeralds I need through farmers and food. No what made it fast is you got lucky on the RNG, sometimes a specific book won't show up for thousands of tries..you got all yours done rather quickly. Be glad..and ask Grian about trying to get a specific book to show up from villagers...to see how it's been for him before :P.

Horse breading and packed mud are big this season; hay bales will always be big sellers. It may be worth working out a discount with Stress and Keralis for buying in bulk so they're not tempted to farm it on their own.

I almost hope Doc tries to protest something about the arrangement to the permit office. I want to see how he deals with the DHP - patience is not his strong suit. (And since they aren't his villagers anymore, if he says you're not 'selling' the books and not covering the permit, you can just. Easily pivot to doing so, still not owing him profits for villagers that aren't his. He plays himself at every turn.)

Mate, Doc doesn't want 'profit'. He has a tunnel bore and literally uses diamond ore as building block for his red stone machines. The whole thing was about stealing his villagers he putted time and effort just to avoid grinding yourself. Everything Doc did was about his pride more than anything else. P.S: To be honest cuting the profit 50/50 would been bad for both parties. Pragmatically, Cleo were far more invested in this. The situation ended how it should.

Good luck with the free range Villagers, Cleo! I have tried on and off for at least 6 years, and never got it working. After a while they somehow get lost and forget which was their workstation. Worse even if I gave them beds, they would forget those, too, and then make babies because there were apparently unoccupied beds, which then took over the apparently unoccupied workstations. Well, but of cause I hope you make it, Cleo. So keep trying. I am dying to see a working solution that doesn't trap them in less than 9 block spaces.

if you need "alot" of emeralds fast and easy just get 2 fletching villagers (trades arrows) turn them into zombies heal them and they trade like 4 sticks for 1 emerald (normally they trade 16-32 sticks per emerald)

dealing with librarian villagers becomes much easier if you don't bother yourself too much, with manually cycling the starter trade. as they automatically cycle, if you haven't locked their trades. like as soon as you set then up 1. check trades 2. if you don't like it leave it, to do something else 3. comeback to check it again 4. repeat Of course, this more patient approach only applies if you're not in too big of a rush to get a specific enchanting book. but it helps streamline progress, as you're not just stuck in one spot trying to get the one trade you want.

You've probably already seen it in your comments, but you could knock out an air hole between the villagers, they'll "talk" to each other, and lower the prices if you trade with them

its both easier than folks claim but also you were lucky. what normally makes it hard is the fact that folks like to optimize the prices which takes forever cause most folk dont have access to the amount of emeralds you do. Im glad you found it as easy as it was because optimization can be bonkers. Also i love the salmon prank and docs retaliation was great because he didnt show it at all. good luck on gettin the calico to complete the set!

Books will always be needed. I remember Keralis' Book Nook from a while ago, he was making diamonds the whole season. Cause at the end of the day, it is all too easy to lose your armor set and need to remake it all over again. Or, some people also just like to have extra sets lying around for things like death runs.

What I would do to see if they are real diamonds is grab 6 more from your stack and put them with those three and see if it makes a diamond block. Then you can break the diamond block back down into 9 regular diamonds. If they don't make a diamond block you know they are renamed custom textured carved pumpkins. AKA moissanite --alias, fake diamonds.

yeah, it really is getting the emeralds in the early game which is the biggest problem. books can be bought as bookshelves, but everything comes back to having enough emeralds. you also avoided bothering with the zombification process, but all that really does is reduce how many emeralds you need

Your hay bales are probably selling becayse until Tango has his redstone shop set up, they're integral for target blocks which are useful redstone blocks
