I love how Ohuhu has grown over the years. I remember hearing when they first popped up several years ago, and when I went to buy some Ohuhu markers and brush pens my mom was like "Ohuhu? What's that?" So I showed her Ohuhu was a 'home grown' company and all that. Congrats on Ohuhu for the debut of their refills! Sounds like they're really trying hard to be a good Copic competitor.

OMG!! it's the BEST NEWS EVER! My experience with Copic sketch it was awful, because I have very serious problem with the crack on the cap. In 6 months I managed to have +200 copics, 6 of them dried up, because the system when closing the cap is not very practical and tends to break inside. SO I WAITING VERY EXCITING FOR OHUHU INK! I intend to sell all my copics and buy myself ohuhu.

This is awesome! I took your tip to color rhinestones with alcohol ink and I use the markers because the color is perfect, but now I can put them in a ziplock baggie and just shake it with the refill ink. Thanks so much Lindsay!

Thank you so much, that's certainly shifted my allegiances, now leaning to the Ohuhu side. I acquired the full set a month ago but still havent swatched it out, which was one of my main beefs with Ohuhu, their poor colour mapping on the lids. So I decided I would use them until they died but get my favourite copics, because I can refill them and theyre easier to grab. So now, the refillable question has been answered, only the poor packaging colours remains. But that can be resolved with swatching and storage, which Im a sucker for anyway since Im a bit OCD :) Super chuffed with Ohuhu on most other fronts, fabulous price range for entry and amateur artists / crafters.

Hullo Lindsay! Well it looks like Ohuhu has become the official “Copic Killer” with the replacement nibs, wide body markers and now refills? Why invest in those expensive Copic markers? I have a lot of Copic’s but I believe that I am going to recommend Ohuhu to anyone looking to start their alcohol marker collection! Thank you for sharing this excellent refill video! Yeah , Getting 300+ Colours with half price of Copic , Especially for someone first time exposure to Alcohol Markers , I think thats sounds worth but unfortunately Ohuhu still much underrated by popularity in my country

Well, there are still reasons for professionals to stick to Copics. The numbering system of Copics makes sense. Pantone colors, availability, accessories, ergonomics, having invested in Copics already etc.

Thank you Lindsay, that was a great video we have all been waiting for. I still want to get Ohuhu markers, now more than ever because they are refillable. I just have so many Promarkers still, since I started collecting and using those before Ohuhu came out. I am now thinking it might be interesting to get only a half set of Ohuhu Markers or some of their specific sets , keep using the Promarkers until they dry out and then refill those with Ohuhu ink as similar as possible or even with different ones (or you can mix two inks and create new colours you might want, can we do that? Have you tried?) and just create new labels for them. It certainly gives us more possibilities since W&N still havent put out refills for theirs. Maybe this will force them to do that, something we have been demanding for a long time. Otherwise they might get eaten by the competition with this new development. It will be interesting to see how other brands will react. Does anybody know if there is a chart comparing the Promarker colours to the Ohuhu ones in case we want to buy the later inks for the first ones?

You can mix your own inks. I don't think W&N will sell refills. It is expensive to sell them and had to get stores to stock them. They have been reducing open stock items, no adding over the last decade. They used to sell openstock pastels now they sell sets made in China.

So excited that they finally came out with refills but I sure hope they bring out additional colors soon. I use some of these refill colors but also a lot of the others. Which tip would you suggest pulling out to refill if you have the brush/fine nib markers?

I don't have the brush fine combo so I pulled the fine tip out of an Oahu marker and it is a bit to small to stick the nozzle in so you will half to pull the brush end or drip it on the brush tip.

Great video! I always made a horrible mess of refilling my markers. I do have a question though. If you have the brush/bullet nib version, do you recommend taking out the bullet nib to refill the marker? Or the brush nib? Thank you!

I wouldn't use them in the fineliners because then alcohol ink will smear them. They have an india ink in them I think.

Hi Lindsay! Thank you for this thorough review on how to refill markers. I just found a set of 48 Studio 71 markers that I bought about 12 years ago at a discount store for $12.99. Some of them actually worked, but others were dry, and some had damaged nibs. One, sage, was bright green and both nibs disintegrating. Color names and the color #'s the same today. Do you know if they have replaceable nibs and refill inks in today's sets? Thank you!

Well you could but nibs and refills for them but it would be cheaper to buy a new set. The nibs on that marker brand did not hold up well and the dry out easily making me think there was a issue with the marker build. I had that set and it was great at first but didn't last. Sorry.

I'm glad there are refills I just wish they was no plastic packaging we need to stop using single use plastic. If ohuhu would take them back clean and refill the refills that would be amazing.

Next step that would be amazing: Ohuhu taking back the empty refills and then refilling/re-selling those. There's no perfect solution, of course, so I'm not trying to complain that these are just using more plastic. You get more use than you would buying new markers every time! But wouldn't it be awesome if they could somehow start a program like that? (I promise I'm not trying to be a Negative Nancy! I do genuinely think this is cool!)

Hey Lindsey, I love your videos andI was wondering if you ever considered trying out TEMU's budget friendly 'frugal' art supplies and see if any of them are good. I just saw on another channel a young lady had a box of Paul Ruebens but are they real or a knock off? I would love to see what you think of some of their art supplies and apparently they also sponsor videos. Just a thought.

They reach out to me on a daily basis to sponsor videos but I feel funny about them. I get an icky feeling when I look at their website. I've seen a lot of counterfeit stuff. I don't really want to promote that. I'm sure some sellers are good and some are bad just like Amazon but there just seems to me more questionable stuff there.

I thought of Ohuhu as just another company that puts their label on cheap chinese markers for years. The kind that you can't even find anymore a few months later. Damn was I proven wrong!

They've come a long way and invested back in their line. Their alcohol markers are their best product. They do some private lable product with the water-based markers but they have moved away from that with the alcohol markers or at least they are having them made more custom with refills and customer support.
