My mom often made us French toast for breakfast before school.And she made homemade bisquits several times a week.There were four of us kids so she tried to come up with something different for our breakfast.She would save her homemade bisquits and cut them in half ,butter them and put them back in the oven and toast them untl they were crispy.She would heat some milk and pour the warm milk over the warm crispy bisquits.And add a little extra butter and a bit of salt,let the bisquits soak in the warm milk for awhile and have it for breakfast.She especially made this when one of us had a sore throat.Comfort food at its best.I still make it for myself when I am under the weather.

Why not drag the bread pinwheels through the egg and milk mixture, then toast/fry and add white powdered sugar and maple syrup. Oh yum!!! I love French toast anything. Especially with maple syrup. Love all these bread recipes.

My mother would add special touches to all the plain stuff for everything she cooed. Just like you are doing. My husband was sick a year ago and lost a lot of weight, I would add the butter and cheese to every sandwich, etc. I cooked a lot of breakfast food, that was quick.

LOL French TOAST??? 😂 Might I suggest to everyone, if you'd like to try a Yummy variation? Omit everything sweet (cinnamon too), and replace with salt and pepper. When you flip the final time add a slice of American (Velveeta is good too) then add a couple slices of fried ham or Pork Roll (Taylor Ham), or everyone's favorite--Bacon....it's a nice variation and it's very filling and Hearty!

My daughter loves French toast, usually make it by the loaf on weekends and freeze it. Not sure why she added sugar, I add nutmeg to mine. I also use one yolk with 4 additional servings of egg whites. We sweeten with raw green honey. Or fresh maple syrup. Bread is fresh as well.
