This is why I say there's enough out here for all of us. A yard like that I would not put on my schedule. I have a rule that I don't go across property lines with my equipment because im liable for anything that happens. I started that when a client kept trying to get me to go further and further into both of her neighbors properties. On one side she wanted me to mow and weedeat around their mailbox and on the other she claimed a 5 foot swath was her yard. She didnt know I used to be a surveryor so I knew the iron rebar in their shrubs was where her property ended 😂😂

You are the coolest lawn guy. If I weren't disabled I'd want to do what you do for a living. Before I got this way I used to love mowing and edging. I actually toyed with the idea of starting my own lawn care business but I chickened out. Stay hydrated out there!!!!! 👍
@fulks19 Жыл бұрын
$50 is VERY reasonable for that lawn especially with the issues involved. You have a very nice setup with a lot of equipment to maintain. I hate it when people think you should just give them your services.
@Kay-fv7cw Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't go through a neighbor's yard, especially if it's soggy. That's a mishap/problem waiting to happen. The customer would have to provide an entry to their backyard on their property. Stay safe in this heat.
@hitekredneck109 Жыл бұрын
Damn!! $50 bucks diesnt seem like much especially considering travel,the time to do it,the equipment expenses etc......and you did such a nice job on it!!
@GrammarPoliceInvestigations Жыл бұрын
The resolution for the clippings issue is great. Spend a little more time dispersing them and charge the customer more for your time. However, I would not cross over property lines to enter the back yard. The liability and possible headaches are just not worth it for me. You understand the situation on a much deeper level, so I'm sure your judgment in this situation is sound. I am always impressed by your professionalism and business acumen.

I hate doing those small lawns. They’re tricky. You’d think they’re fast and simple but sometimes those are the worst ones. I’d rather do a big open lawn with no objects in the way compared to the one you just did. And pray that the neighbor will be nice cause when you have a old grumpy neighbor in those small tight spaces, it’s game over.

Am I going to work over 40 hours a week because that’s what my boss expects of me and not get paid. Overtime is overtime. Extra work is extra work if they don’t like it, let him buy a lawnmower and do it themselves.

Not another mower manufacturer producing electric machines,when will they learn that they are not power efficient, recently saw one on demo dealer reckoned on 14 hours from a charge 2 hours it was dead ,keep petrol and diesel mowers,I'm also against them because the power station near me in the UK is felling 100 acres of timber per day to produce wood pellets which arenit carbon neutral as claimed ,go back to petrol

I see no matter the cut height cutting wet grass is very tricky, will adjusting the anti-scalping wheels prevent the uneven cuts? I know the soil is the biggest problem but it's very telling where the deck is cutting into the turf and doen here in Tampa I'm cutting on average at 4" and having the same issues..

Man, I'd love to switch to EV mowers, but to switch my whole setup would be over $100k at current prices ($36k for a single 52" standon!?). They need to get the price at least within 5--8k of what a gas mower costs if they want these things to sell.

I would look to raise price on special services like this property. I would also bring a 21” mower set up with mulching blades and mulch cover. Also would not cross into another yard unless they were to be gained as a customer. And additionally i would have to be weekly on this one. Biweekly would not work. All those stars would have to line up for it to work out.

How much extra do you charge to bag grass
@daflea66 Жыл бұрын
That number will change per person. How far are you from a dump site? Big factor. My shop yard is a mile from a dump, and it isnt cheap to dump...I think $55 for my 12' dump trailer...I charge 30% plus $10 per tarp. A tarp to me is basically 2 mower bags. 1 tarp min. This would have been $75 bagged to me. Thats how much i dont want to bag haha
@pinkocommiee1 Жыл бұрын
I started charging $3.00 per bag in the fall for my customers with heavy leaf clean up. Down here in Tampa Fla. folks think bagging their leaves is on the house, I tell them they need to get yard waste cans but using my materials will cost you!

That yard is one of those lawns you just hate getting to on the route. Unfortunately you waste a lot of time cutting that yard super short and having to blow off so much debris. Also why wouldn’t you ride on the outskirts of the neighbors lawn if you needed to cut through… looked like someone worked hard next door keeping it that way. Cut your loss, your work presents its self you can replace that yard within 48 hours.
