3 1/2 is 1 bedroom apartment by the way and yeah housing is cheaper in Montreal. Apartments are not that spacious on the island and they are old. I am paying 1400$ for a 3 1/2 off the island of Montreal ( 10-15 mins drive from downtown) but it's a brand new construction , over 750 sqft with patio and a beautiful garden , the rent has everything included in it( not a single penny on top of this ) - electric , gas , heating , internet-bell 1.5 gbps , indoor heated parking , extra locked storage in garage ( if you exclude all amenities this would be around 1000$ ). . My friends in Toronto can't even think of getting rent like this 15 mins away from downtown. Some other differences - My auto insurance here in Montreal is like 90$ for a SUV and I have heard it's way higher in Toronto, Metro pass monthly is around 85$ here in Montreal and I think it's twice that in Toronto, Gas is a little expensive here compared to Ontario. For me approach of coming here to Montreal was totally different on LMIA exempt work permit and it took me overall 14 business days to get the worker visa and work permit from US for myself along with open work permit for my spouse. Now I am trying to see if there's a way for me to get the PR here.

I really appreciate your efforts to help the new immigrants with such informative videos.I am also an immigrant living in Montreal since last 1 year with my husband who is a citizen (Born & raised in Montreal)When it comes to Quebec, the immigrants usually don't chose to live here because of French language and other historical reasons.It's really not that. We would love to share many things like job opportunity, life style, cost of living, taxes,etc to the future immigrants.Feel free to contact, if you plan to make a video specifically for living in Montreal.

Hi Himani it would be great if you could comment on the recent immigration changes to students who may be considering of studying their Masters in Montreal.
@himanirajput37844 жыл бұрын
@@rajratt The rules for student visa is all same across Canada.To know more visit: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada.html. The one thing which is different for international students is when he apply for PR in Quebec he has to give a test of French language.To be very precise once a student compleates his studies,he get work permit to work in Quebec but when he apply for PR from work permit he has to give a French language test.(Government provide the same facilities/benefits which a PR holder gets to learn French and to those who studied in Quebec and wants to get a PR) This is the main reason most of the students who studies in Montreal move to other province so that he/she can escape from the requirement of learning French.
