I think Jackal was still better in the striking department. He landed a very basic counter (overhand right) and also dropped him with a sidekick, whereas the other guy was throwing strikes while barely within range and the one head kick he tried landing failed. He was also moving around a little too much, probably expending extra energy. His movement was smooth, though, and he looked like he had decent amount of training - a few months if not 1+ year, but this might have been his first actual fight.

Awesome video! I just started training in Muay Thai. I am always hurt man... haha! Nature of the sport I guess. I know my limits though and heal well before going back and training/sparring. I did wrestling all through high school and never had stand up fighting except street fighting punks in the neighborhood. I have always liked the aggression of Muay Thai as a striking martial art. I think wrestling and Muay Thai are excellent skill sets to have before trying MMA. Of course have a good idea of BJJ but that's just because you will almost always end up on the ground on your back or on top. I would love to talk some time about what you have to say about specific things regarding Muay Thai because I know you have probably already been doing all that for a while now. Also! You are doing fuxking awesome in ONE! Keep that shit up mane.

IMO unless you are fighting at a high level (10-15+ fights) codes are not necessary as long as you do exactly what your coach said as soon as he said it from personally experience there usually is not enough time for your opponent to process what he heard and then act on it before you do and that is if he even was heard but I could see more of an argument for codes being necessary at the higher levels as mentioned prior
