I know that some people might not love Downpour, but I believe the game has enough qualities to appeal to a certain audience. I personally love this kind of exploration in such environments, even if it can be frustrating at times. I'm thinking about making a similar gameplay video when SH2 Remake comes out because I think it gives more spontaneous perspective than the review videos.

I agree never understand why people were stuck keeping silent Hill in the occult like story. Oh by the way if memory serves you can start the old juke box at dinner, and it will play some of either old Silent Hill games music or the tracks for this game. Little possible Easter Egg I remember.

I actually really like the rainy atmosphere in this game, sometimes the rain is ao heavy that you can’t see anything, it feels like the Silent Hill fog

The game came out at a time when people didn't like anything Konami produced and they played it with the mindset that it will be bad regardless. The studio Vatra paid the price.

The music is composed by Daniel Licht. He tragically passed away from cancer in 2017. I went into this game looking forward to the soundtrack because he's also the composer of the live action Dexter series.

It's super simple, Downpour had a great story, atmosphere, character, and direction. On the other hand the worst enemies in the whole series, a terrible fighting and aiming system, and of course awful technical issues like *LOW* framerates and glitches.

I feel like it could of been a stand alone game without the silent hill brand and people would of appreciated it more. This game broke the mold in the way they portrayed Murphy as a bad man from the start and later showed he wasnt as bad as first portrayed, litterally the opposite of james who was portrayed as innocent till the final reveal.

@@bleh3328 Well he was a good guy who did a bad thing. I think the truly bad thing he did was getting Frank, a cop that was kind and always looking out for him, into a vegetable state. His hunger for revenge was so great that he traded another innocent’s persons life for it. That’s why throughout the game he is haunted by a figure in a wheelchair

I love this game! The exploration and atmosphere of the town is superb! It reputation suffered after the launch because it didn't perform well(framerate and bugs) but playing it now on an Xbox Series X, it's perfect 🖤

I played sh2 when I was 14, I didn’t pass, it was too scary and it was unclear where to go, I played sh3 even less and it seemed even scarier to me, I passed sh4 the most, but also not completely ( now I'm 34 and I finally remembered about sh2 and beat it, now it's not scary)) I'm waiting for the remake, btw I liked your play through, and relevant comments, definitely deserved a like

I'm going watch the rest later because its interesting and I will update the comment. My reason for not liking the game was due to the bad bugs, and glitches and bad programing/game design in my time playing it on the Xbox 360. The first was the constant auto save which especially every time I went through a door, having to put the highlight weapon on, frame rate issues that broke immersion and for some reason rapid duplicates of specific monster that hangs on a specific bridge, and no matter how many I took down they still kept appearing. All this and among other glitches that appear made the game unplayable. Glad the team that is working on Remake Silent Hill 2 is not designing an auto save program because man talk about immersion breaking and certain situations game breaking.

You can play it on PS3 or Xbox 360 if you have the console. However, buying a copy on PS3 these days might cost you 100+ dollars. If you have a relatively good PC, you can play it on a PS3 emulator. It runs very well there.

I actually enjoyed the game, yes it's no SH 1-3 but it was way better than homecoming I thought. There was a lot of problems with the monster design and stuff but I feel if they gave the developer another chance and they took the criticism from the fans I feel they could of made a good game after this.

Knowing what the psychological horror really is, there's no way this game fits in that sub-genre (despite it belongs to the Silent Hill franchise). This is just a good adventure game with some horror elements. When people see this game tagged as a "psychological horror game", they expect a deeply disturbing and terrifying experience by playing, but this game is too far from that promise

The monster design are limited and boring. The town of silent hill have become too vast and huge by the time this game came out. Other than these i don't have too much problem playing this game. They just play it too safe with this franchise when they nade this game. The story is kinda of old and predictable.

Sorry, but this is an extremely bad game, and the worst kind where it's confusing and boring. It destroys everything you know about the lore from the first four games, all because the people in charge weren't fans of them. The combat is frustrating, the story is a mess, the protagonist is unlikeable, the technical aspects are beyond janky, and it's just not fun.
